Question about DOHC

What's Up? I'm out here in the middle east Operation Enduring Freedom, and one of my friends has a Del Sol. It's not US specs. Anyway, when I lifted the hood the engine code read D16, but I'm almost sure it was a DOHC. Now, I know DelSol's do come with the DOHC option but I thought it was a B series. Now, can someone straighten this up before my Civic gets shipped here cuz I dont want to be shoed up!!!

Exclamation What engine do i have?

These are the only engines honda made for the del sol.
D15B8 - 1.5L SOHC 8-valve
D15B7 - 1.5L SOHC 16-valve (del Sol S)
D15Z1 - 1.5L SOHC 16-valve (del Sol VTEC-E)
D16Z6 - 1.6L SOHC VTEC (del Sol Si)
B16A ..- 1.6L DOHC VTEC (del Sol VTEC)
B16A2 - 96-97
B16A3 - 94-95

The D-16 is SOHC, and has always been that way.
The only engines that have the DOHC are.....
ZC,B-16A,B-16B,B-18C,B-20B,H-22A,F-20C

Do you even know what a DOHC looks like? Because the difference between the two engines is pretty unmistakable.

Go look at it again, but this time, look real hard, and if you still cant figure out the difference, go to teamdelsol's web site, go to their "FAQ" site, and click on the question "what engine do i have?"

The people at teamdelsol. com were so kind to make this fully illustrated page for people just like you! Enjoy!

i just came back from OEF. i was on the Roosvelt. im in the Navy. if there is d-htever on the block its a SOHC. if it says b16a2 then its the engine that came with the sol. if its like mine is and says b16a with no number that means hes got a little jdm action going!!!!!

by the way keep up the good work out there. i know how you feel. but trust me when u get home its all worth it.
