Question question about relocating gas tank

I'm relocating my gas tank.... Anyone have experience with it? I'm curious what process should be gone through to cut the steel pipe that connects to the outside of the car....the fumes are more flammable than actual gas, so i was worried about sparks...I've got the rest of it figured out, except how to actually cut the pipe that is currently there. any ideas or suggestions? (yes I'm away for all the tech kids) this is a dumb idea, but I've seen it done, and I like it, and just wanted something different. So please post if you can help, if not, dont thanks
rachel

Honestly, the best way to help is to tell you not to do it.

Unless you're putting a fuel cell on the passenger floor, it won't help to move the gas tank anywhere else than where it is.

My suggestion, if you decide to do it, is first, DRAIN THE GAS!

There is a drain bolt on the gas tank, trust me it's there.

Also, take an air compressor, and blast air through the gas tank filler, into the tank with the drain plug open.

Also, you can disconnect the gas tank from the car and leave the tube there, so I don't understand why you would want to cut the tube with the tank still on the car.. ?

Why are you 'relocating' it anyhow?

ha

well lol i guess you could say that. And yeah, i know it's the best suggestion. But i want to do it. I want something that looks different. period. Iknow a lot of people think it's dumb, but it's just what i want to do. I want to put the gas tank in my tailight. and I dont want to move it unless I know it's possible *which i do because I have seen it on other cars* just need to know the process. THanks

People that do that don't actually relocate the gas tank, just the gas filler.

Then some fuel safe tubing is ran from the relocated filler peice to the stock tubing that is cut in half or so, and it's all hose clamped together.

Relocating the filler is WAY different than relocating the gas tank. Keep in mind your gas tank holds 11.9 gallons of fuel, and there really isn't any other place to put it, other than where it is. It definately wouldn't fit in your tail light, but the filler part has been done plenty of times.
