Well my friend is selling me his system for pretty cheap whenever his g/f GIVES him hers(lucky ass) anyways i really dont feel like throwing it in my trunk. Im not really going for speed until i get a swap in the future so im not worried about the weight. I was just wondering does anyone have or know of a site with pics of a system going behind the seats in progress. Mostly i want so see how much room there is without the compartments, and if having a custom box made is the only choice i have. If possible i would like to transfer my compartments into the trunk too. I use them ALOT and do not really want to get rid of them. Just a thought thats in the air right now but maybe one of my projects to come. Thanks..

I'd put the subs in the trunk, if that's what you're talking about.
Some guy on here had an insane, (i.e. ear-bleeding), setup like
that, with pics, but a Sol's trunk is a perfect/massive place for
subs.
ok...my compartments, for the most part, are small. I'm pretty sure they are all the same size, correct? But what the hell is under them? I hope it's not empty space or just a lot of plastic. if so those things are gone. Just tryin to get my Noob status changed on the forum. I hate being a noob.

heres the deal with the compartments if you notice the passenger side is a little deeper then the drivers side. reason for that the gas line is under the drivers side. so not much space there. hope that helps. ohh yeah and dont screw under the compartments as the gas tank is there. hope this helps. later.
as HANSOLIO was saying ...under the compartments is the same shape made of sheetmetal, on the driver side the fuel line on the passengerside, nothing....but you are only getting like 5 extra inches by taking them out

from personal trial and error I do NOT like putting subs in the trunk of a Sol period!
There is like 6in of sheet metal from the trunk and the Cabin 45-60% of bass response is instantly eliminated.Putting subs behind the seats are the best place I have proved this by using a SPL(Sound Pressure Level) Mic I gained 5 Decibles by putting the Subs behind the seats opposed to the trunk. I used to have 3-10" JL Audio w6's behind the seat with a RF BD1000 Amp I hit 145DB and My last setup that some of you might remember was one 10" punch power that hit 138DB.
Another plus to putting sub behind the seat is that if you think about it, behind your seats is almost exactally the middle of your car and the weight from the subs might help the weight distubution?!?!? just someting I was thinking about.

it all depends on the install,I used to work at a car audio store here in Michigan so I know what Im doing when I install custom systems...I used very little Dynamat I had no rattle at all....now putting the subs in the trunk on the other hand ,EVERYTHING rattles the whole trunk lid rattles like two midgets in the trunk wrestling.

Well for it to look good it will have to be custom no getting around that..When I first got my sol I put a bass tube behind the seats and could still recline the seats alll the way...My host is down I will post some pics of some of the boxes I have done for my Sol as soon as its back up.
