Relocating the IAT sensor?

I have been reading some articles online about relocating the IAT sensor further down on the intake piping so it tricks the car into thinking that the air is colder than it is. From what I've read this makes the ECU deliver more fuel which would inturn increase performace. I was just wondering if anybody had tried this or had any comments about it. If not I will probably just go ahead and try it myself. Thanks!

By the way I have a d16y8

Sounds like a waste of time to me. If it send more fuel but not more air your air/fuel ratio will be incorrect

But your O2 sensor would detect more fuel and try to balance the fuel ratio. Depending on how much fuel it won't be able to and the sensor will throw a check engine light. I wouldn't waste the time, getting a programable ecm would be more benefitial, at least then you could control everything.
