hey, if volvo would have brought 5spd turbo's to the states, I'd have one. I could go through the trouble of swapping one in, but I think thats what my current 850 is for.
Its pretty pricey as far as 850's go. In Excellent shape, KBB and NADA put suggested retail around $6500. I'm going to play ball here tomorrow or Wednesday and see what price I can work out.
I am going to be driving through like all of PA. I may take you up on it if I go this route.
honestly there is nothing to see in pa other than the eastern part and that isn't much.......pitt is a joke and anything surrounding it is as well. and central pa is nothing more than back water kentucky.....

I'm not doing it because I want to, lol. I'm driving through because I have to, if I get the car. Wheeling and dealing with the guy right now. I'm gonna try and get it out the door for $6400
Getting the car checked by a 3rd party at the moment,we'll see if it pans out. Only thing that troubles me is no one seems to know when the t-belt was done, if at all. hm, other wise it checks out so far. We'll see what the non-dealer mechanic has to say.

8 miles from center city. you could ask tim (redwabbit) to look at it

well I posted in another thread on it, but let me re-post again because I got the numbers a bit lower than what I originally posted.
They were asking 7k for the car originally. but...
I did some hw and found a local shop in NJ close to the dealer arrange to come pick the car up and have it inspected. The guy at the shop found 3 issues. 1.) AC is a little weak. 2.) traction control is iffy, sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, I'm kinda ok with it not working. 3.) no one knows when or if the T-belt has been done.
So...
I went back to the dealer and played the numbers game and went from near 7k ($6995) to $6390. Now, for this $6390 not only am I getting the car, but I am getting the car with:
-Brand new t-belt installed by the shop I brought it to for the inspection
-Inspection costs at that shop comped
-Ride form the airport to the dealership
-Plates, title tax ect. all included in the price
I don't think a clean as hell 850 with 105k, no major flaws at all really, and a brand new t-belt, on the road and legal is a bad deal? The extra $500 or so (I have a 7k budget) I obviously will have to spend on a plane ticket to NJ and gas to get the car the nearly 1000 miles back home. I'm not too troubled by the travel costs, as I'll view it as a vacation of sorts, I love road trips, I'm gonna take a few days off work and enjoy getting my ass back home the scenic way in a new car! The mountain roads of PA could prove interesting.

Hey now. Back water KY is better than that, we have cleaner women.
Here's some pics of my car... I was thinking about cutting down the barrier between the trunk and the cab and putting a seat back there.
I've already removed the trunk so I can fit my mountain bike back there but I need to be able to fit my 178cm skis in the car and the only way I can think of to do that is to cut out the mid section where the window rolls up and down. I can deal with not having that window as my car never has the top on in the summer and for the winter I was thinking of building a removable hard hatch cover.
So basically turning my del sol into a hatchback with a targa top.
A guy that runs a junk yard said he would give me a bench seat to put back there so I figured I'd run with it.
What I need to know is will it be ok to cut out the barrier between the trunk and the cab?
I'm looking at a 1994 Del sol, owned by a friend of mine.
Fresh paint job professionally done, zero rust anywhere. for $1500. Timing belt was done recently, good tires an brakes, and it's a D16z6 manual with I/H/E. It needs a headgasket, which I am able to do. Is this a good deal?

yeah it's a good deal if the wiring harness isn't a night mare and the head/block isn't warped. also you won't really know until you get the head off and hopefully the walls are in decent condition. any cancer, leaks or torn cv boots etc?
