Subs don't always sound good in the trunk of the del Sol, just keep that in mind. Otherwise if that is where you for sure want to put them, it would help to put in some dynomat. Carpet might work to, but probably not as well. If you got two 10" or one 12" you would probably be well off. I suggest JL Audio.
But before you add subs, get those speakers replaced!
Personally I am going with the in cab set-up. I'm getting the box custom made so I won't lose any seat travel, and it will sound much better than the trunk. You can't see the inside of my car either because I have a 5% window tint.
Losing the rear compartments is really the only downside for me, and isn't a big deal because the only thing I kept back there was CDs. I still have all my trunk space though so I'm still happy.
Unless you really need your rear compartments, I highly suggest you reconsider installing the subs in your car.

Anyway my question is, does anyone have any opinions on the aftermarket one pieces you can pick up on ebay?
im looking at these ones specifically

I was just curious if anyone knew anything about durability or fitment etc. They dont have a manufacturer and I know random ebay parts can be sortof cheap. Anyway anything you folks know would be great, thanks! :clap

ebay headlights are horrible, i had a 97 civic coupe i bought projectors. they were really not bright and horrible fit. so then i bought solid ones with jus the light gave it kind of the acura circle head light look. not sure if u kno which ones im talkin about. but anyway both fit horribly bad and werent bright

Should i get this del sol?
There is a guy on a local forum selling this del sol. he wants $2,500 for it. Its auto and a SOHC. Yuck! The motor also has 155k miles on it. Should i get it? What would be better to rebuild that motor get a 5 spd tranny and turbo it; or get a h22 swap? does anyone make h22 mounts for a del sol? This del sol is hella clean. Or i could get this h22 hatch. Problem with that is I dont know ragged out the motor is. It has 60-70k approx. miles on it. Hm... choices choices. What do u guys think?
here is pic of the del sol

How much should I haggle?
Hey everyone, I'm really new to the forum and have been interested in buying a del sol for quite some time. Recently I found one and was wondering what the value of the sol is actually worth.
1993 Honda Del Sol S
That's the car. I'm all the way up in Canada so they're less common, but the car's condition has some negative impacts on the price:
- No power steering
- No a/c
- No power brakes (pretty sure, had to press harder than I've had to on any other car)
- Bad paint job
- Modifications that were removed resulting holes where a sound system was installed
I test drove it and really enjoyed driving it. The last owner installed a performance exhaust and I don't like that all too much. If I was to buy it I would certainly be looking into installing a stock one again and maybe a/c if it isn't too pricey.
What do you guys think?

Being a 93 S with 155K, there is NOW WAY IN HELL it is worth EVEN CLOSE to his $4k asking price. If it is in good condition, go for it... but just not that much. How much were you thinking about offering? Just to give you an idea, Kelly Blue Book estimates the value of that year, model, and mileage at:
Excellent-$2,475
Good-$2,125
Fair-$1,700
And that is based on condition. It sounds like that car is what would qualify as "Good" condition, so don't pay much more than that...

Obviously not that price now. I'll probably only be able haggle off a thousand. I also have the VIN #, JHMEG1141PS013670. Is anyone able to run a check on that?

It's honestly not worth $3K though... my best advice is just to be patient and wait for a better deal to come around, and don't worry there will be plenty especially if you are looking for an S.

exhaust
Would I be disappointed in this exhaust? I would prefer a deep tone to a loud one but I don't expect much performance over stock.

My completely stock rust hole flows well but is a little loud.

94 del sol w/ gsr swap worth it?
my friend's coworker offered me a 94 blue del sol with a gsr swap for $3600. i've checked the car out already and told her that i'd get back to her tomorrow. the body has minor dings and dents, but aside from that it's clean. the only problem is that she has no paperwork for the motor and claims that it was given to her by a friend. she told me that the car has been barred last year and has a sticker with the vin number to prove it along with the paperwork. the engine supposedly has 130k miles on it, but i'm not sure if its a stolen motor or not. should i buy this car or should i just keep searching? if i do buy the car, what steps should i take to verify that everything on the car is legit? also the car is going to be smogged before the title is transferred over to me. thanks a lot
