Does anybody have any tips on removing stripped lugnuts? I'm installing coilovers, and got to the last tire, but two of the lugnuts (12mm hex nuts) are stripped...I was about to take a cold chizel and try to hack them off, but would like to save them if possible....any help is appreciated....thanks
They stick out a little bit, enough to grip with vice grips from the front, but too short from the sides....plus they're really seized so even with a breaker bar they won't loosen, after a shot of wd-40....
Yea I would have used some if I had it....instead i went with wd-40, but still didn't get the nuts out.....so I just went underneath and unbolted the cross bar and dropped the spring down, left the tire on.....hope a flat doesn't come any time soon....thanks for the help though....
I have an impact gun and used that, all it did was spin and spin, thats when the breaker bar was brought into play, and they cracked....then, the cold chizel.....now there are two stumps of what used to be lugnuts on the calipers....what a nightmare....pain in the ass for whoever is going to take them off, if anyone will....
