whats should i do first?!?

hey guys im new to this site and im also kinda new to hondas/del sols. im looking at buying a 95 i think its just the S model sadly. so my question is what should i do first. i was thinking exhuast, then intake im not sure if i want CAI or SR we get alot of rain in the northwest. do you think its a good idea to straight pipe the exhuast? will i get some more gain doing that? so i was thinking an apexi N1 muffler, maybe greddy evo2? i dunno any sugguestions on MUFFLERS and INTAKES cold or short ram.

thanks alot guys

header, cai u can chop it conver to sr when it rains use cuplins put it back to cai during the summer, and i believe S model is d15 with stock motor a straight pipe is not recommended unless u going for turbo later...

Welcome to the Del Sol life! I had the Si (motor swapped, so it's a mutt now), first things I did were the AEM cai and Skunk2 racing exhaust and it gave me nice little gain in power. Like the other one said, don't run a straight pipe on a N/A car, you need the backpressure unless you plan on boosting it, then I'd say eliminate the converter, but not til the turbo is on, you'll actually lose power in the meantime.

GL with your purchase!

P.S. You can get a pretty nice Del Sol Si (possssibly even the VTEC model) for under $5000 in most areas. Just incase you were thinking they run way higher than the S model.

first thing you should do is get a motor swap. the 1.5 is worthless... your goung to put all that money into that motor and still be slow. makes more sence just to save the money you would spend on the parts and just get a d16 swap. i don't think their that expensive something like 500bucks. 1.5 is like a measley 93 hp and the d116 if i'm not mistaken is 125. save your money get a motor swap

The d15 puts out 105 hp!

But yeah I'd probably just save for a d16z6 and throw that baby in there. Or possibly something bigger if you have the money.

I have an S and I havn't done anything w/ the engine because its just not worth the $$. I'm saving for the b18c1 swap!

the h22 in my opinon limits you turbo-wise bc it takes up a lot of room in the engine bay. supercharging it may be easier. the ITR motor is a waste of money if you plan on messing with it. That motor isn't cheap. The b18c1 (gsr motor) is the best choice I would say stock. The b18b (LS motor) is best if you wanna go turbo. You could boost on stock internals with a good tune and be putting down decent numbers. look on www.hmotorsonline.com for motor options, www.jdmshit.com has motors too, and they have performance parts listed as well. both great sites.

Both of those are great engines...no doubt about that. But I would look at what they cost compared to what you are willing to spend first, and also what you want to do with the engine as solsykness said.

If you want to turbo the H22 and b18c5(type r) are not the best choices. If you want the best bang for your buck I'd go with either the GSR(b18c1) or LS(b18b) engines. Neither of these engines would be hard swaps.

As for website...there are none as trusted as hmotorsonline.com
