I bet this was hal the price and half the effort as the twin turboed twin supercharged 600hp GT-R and its porbabvly just as fast.

marketing reasons only....it's still a skyline.
the skylines have had the r-number designation since before the 80's.
same as the integra being marketed as the rsx.
the skyline isn't dead. they just are selling it to a more wealthy class of people and didn't want it to be associated with the tuner market. they're competing with ferrari, porsche etc, not the mustang, rx7 etc.

Going away from drag racing, the 2010 model posted a 7:26.7 lap time at the Nurburgring beating the Carrera GT and .3 seconds away from ZR1.

everytime i see a "stock" gtr ring video it always has aftermarket wheels... i wonder why?
