All facts pulled from C&D.com. So as to your argument, the STi (being one of many japanese cars that these muscle cars are supposed to be better than) get's better gas mileage than any of the 3 you mentioned, outhandles 2 (Only outhandled by the car that costs TWICE AS MUCH), and is cheaper than 2. Evolution does the same thing, only it is priced higher than only 1 of the american cars mentioned.
Why do we modify our suspensions? Because they can be made better. Are you telling me that every American muscle car owner that owns either of those 3 cars would NEVER modify their suspensions?
And the only one of those cars mentioned comes close to the RSX TYPE-S' price is the Mustang which is still almost a grand more. Not to mention that a Base RSX can be had starting around $20,000...

Well, in the 3 magazines I've checked so far, all 3 say that the 05 Evo MR does 9.5 on the skid pad. The new Evo 9 has a slightly longer wheel base which results in the Evo 9 putting down the 9.3 skid pad.
But anyway that's beside the point.
This is my thought on the subject. A fast car deserves respect. PERIOD. No matter if it's from Japan, America, Europe, or wherever. With that being said, I personally like american cars better, but have no problem at all with imports. I've owned 5 turbo DSM's and several american V-8 muscle cars.
America, specificly GM, has and continues to make high tech overhead cam engines. But they put them in their Cadillacs. The Northstar V-8 has legendary status because of it's DOHC structure and all aluminum construction. However the Corvettes, and Camaro's are pushed by pushrod loving car guys. So it's not really a question of engine size or technology because GM proves they're willing to build either one.
The japanese tuner cars started off as someone already said, econoboxes. Over there in Japan it costs a small fortune to own, operate, and park their cars. So they make them smaller for parking, easy on gas, and cheap to build. So adding 200 or so HP to these small light cars make for quite a thrill.
So when you factor in power to weight ratio both imports and domestics = a fun driving experience. As long as your happy with the car your driving that's all that counts.

I agree. I think this guy managed to end this thread. But I would just like to say something. You people that say how "we" act like we are on top of the world and honda is the only car... well I dont like how you act like you guys are "king of the threads." Like they are stating there opinion. They enjoy acting like that. So let them do it. Dont insult them.

I dont mean to come off like I feel as if I am the king of anything but I get sick and tired of people spouting off bullshit that is not true and them trying to look smart on a forum. I will admit I dont know everything about every car but I am one of the few that look at different cars/makes in the same light. people are all to quick to say that GM and Ford suck or that import companies are far more advanced which is complete horse shit.
I have got to a point that the import crowd itself not the cars have about turned me off to a point that I nolonger give advice, help people, or try and hold a legit convo with most about import cars and their performance abilities.
Everything from the JDM crap to the hp per liter cop-out is stupid, lame keyboard racing terms. People in the real world at real tracks making real hp numbers and pulling in stellar 1/4 mile times dont preach this shit. I can about sum it up with that Pinks episode that had the red civic vs the formula. Allthough most are not like that on say a honda/import forum they are like that for the most part out here in the real world. People breaking it down to import vs domestic, hp per liter, and other stupid crap like that get no love from me at all.
That Skyline in this vid got it's ass toasted, period. Who cares if it was by a Camaro it still got beat and got beat by a N/A car from this country with what people like to refer to as a sub-par engine design(which is not true).

You stupid motherfuckers amaze me. Do you not realize that it was "the dumb American white boys" that first started modding cars, making something out of what they have(kinda like us people with Honda's do)
You fucking idiots dont stop and think, we as in us American white boys were slapping swaps in cars before the japs knew their ass from a hole in the ground. You think the Skyline is allmighty king shit......well not till modded. Stock it is a overweight 320hp car woopty fucking do. The Supra.....nothing but a dyno queen. You know the difference between a 550hp and a 800hp Supra is??????? About .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile but yet it is some godlike car, yea fucking right.
How many Toyota's do you see that are full production cars and sold around the world blistering mid 11's in the 1/4 mile and killing the nurburgring(sp?) in 7 minutes and 40 seconds.....NONE, same way with Nissan.......NONE.......same way with Honda......NONE, but wait the C6 Z06 will. And it is not only that these cars will do good stock, you can sneeze and fart at a 3rd gen GM V8 equiped car/truck and gain 50hp.
Same way with the late model Ford 4.6's and 5.4's. Fuck hp per liter, that bullshit hp per liter shit does nothing for you on a track when your getting your ass handed to you. Oh but wait it looks better on paper which we all know really matters in the real world..... .

hehe chill dude before you lose your white color and turn red. Like I said stupid white boy take easy way and put a v8 into a light weight car call Z06. The reason jap don't want to do that is cuz they don't want to make white boy look more stupid. It's like if we beat you with a v6 ya look stupid already. Too bad white boy started the car thing now the jap are gonna end it for them ehhehe. It's funny how the first car maker FORD can't even make a good car.

Well this argument has 2 sides to it:
1. Ok, so there is a camaro that beats a skyline... I fail to see what the big deal is. I would expect the camaro to take that skyline in a drag race as that is what it's supposed to do. Do we even know if it was a GT-R? Putting such a video on this forum should be coupled with the expectation of some flak.
2. Those who "glorify" skylines, probably haven't ever been to Japan or even seen a skyline in person. So to get offended by a 'domestic' beating a skyline only shows how ignorant people here are. Both cars are badass in their own right. Seeing such a video on this forum should be coupled with acceptance of certain facts.

I just seen one today. It was parked at the grocery store and I knew who it belonged to. (just to tell you now I live in a town of 5000 people including the surrounding area, so a skyline is a very rare thing to see) but yeah I herd about this car comming to town for a while. then I saw it and omg!! sooo nice. It was in immaculate shap for having 105 000 kilometers. I kinda knew the owner (never talked to him tho) but I still went into the grocery store and seriously hunted him down and asked him about the car. He said that it was the second one he bought, the first one was shit. I dont know if he got his money back or what. but this one is really good shape. Then I asked him about racing and he said that he has done some. lmao he says he shifts at 3 haha that thing would like bog at 3 and the turbo wont even be spooled up! He says he only shifts over 3 every once and a while and he has never brought it to redline! well if he is racing at the strip and not bringing it to redline then he is not getting full potential of that car. anyway just thought I'd tell you about the car I saw in real life that I usually only see on my computer monitor.

I don't get it....
How is this video a shock for anyone? Stock for stock, ANY normal Skyline (R32, R34, GT, GT-R) will get it's ass beat in a straight line by an LS1 F-body. Skylines aren't fast in stock form.
As for the guy who says "white boy" this and "white boy" that... grow up, you little prick. BTW, NO modern car has a V4 engine configuration. They are inline (as in I4, not V4), you dumb fuck.

Im gonna agree here with ya nathan. Domestics were built to be fast cars, imports were not. Im sorry but all these jdm-wana-be fags are just plain stupid. Im sorry but your stock crx with 50hp wasnt ment to be a sports car. Now a tuned import that is capable of good track times is another story. The thing is IMPORTS ARENT MADE FOR ALL OUT PERFORMANCE FROM THE FACTORY! Domestics are made to be fast stock, coming off the assembly lines with monster v8s and such.
I dont get why people cant respect cars. I mean if an import beats a domestic, why cant we just give the import credit and go on with ur lives. Same thing if a domestic beats an import. Why cant we just give the domestic credit? Stupid import fanboys start talking about hp/liter and domestic tools start with the played out "ricer" theme. How about we all appreciate cars?
Fuck stupid import vs domestic shit. Respect all cars and be done with it. Japanese cars have their strengths and weaknesses (handling and balance). Oh yeah to the tool who said a mustang could outhandle most imports, look at some skidpad results dumbass. Domestics have their strengths too. Domestics own the drag strip, period.
To all the fags who worship every supra or skyline as untouchable cars, man shut up. Did you know that most all supras that run single digit times at the track switch over to a gm transmission and a ford rear axle.
Props to the camero though.

Really? Go ahead and name off a big list of factory stock (i.e. not bullshit Mugen, etc.) Japanese cars that run faster than 12.5 in the 1/4. And pull .95+ g's on a skidpad. And run the Nürburgring in under 8:00 with the same equipment as they have rolling out of the dealership. Shouldn't be hard, right?
Let's see how long that list is. When you're done, maybe you'll realize what people are talking about.
