Point being, the US makes MULTIPLE cars that can meet or exceed those specs. There is NOT ONE factory Japanese car that can do the same. If that was his point, it is valid.
Can you make a Skyline GT-R fast? Hell yeah. Is it that way stock? Not especially. Does that mean it's a bad car? No. But they are insanely overrated by most people (thanks, Gran Turismo / F&F). As are many Japanese "supercars".
Don't get me wrong, I really like a lot of Japanese cars. The FD3S and NSX are two of my favorites cars ever, and I really wouldn't mind owning one of them. But at the end of the day, the performance is lacking compared to what I am already driving.

Comparing stock vs stock, theres more domestics that can better 13.5 in the 1/4 mile than imports. I mean im all for building a fast carm not buying a fast car but facts are facts. Fine ill correct myself, theres a handful of fast imports that are stock but not many. Japanese cars arent ment to go fast in a straight line out of the facctory. Theyre made more for balance, handling, economy. Most american cars arent made for balance, handling, economy. Theyre made to go fast but only in a straight line. Notice how i said most. Theres cars like the new c6 that are pretty good handling cars.

All in all its pointless to debate this now. Both countries make cars good at some stuff and bad at other stuff. Done deal.
