 w00t america!
this thread is pointless. everyone can bitch and moan all they want, but were just spinning our wheels here.
bottom line: japanese cars good at handling, balance, economy.
bottom line 2: american cars good at straight line racing
STOCK VS STOCK
i will now take the job of being the official of this thread and slap stupid asses around who think the skyline can grow wings and fly, or people who think the only fast cars are hemis (pronounced ham-hee in this case).
who wants some?

Who would say that European cars aren't fast stock? For a LONG time, the fastest (and most expensive) cars have been European... and apparently you are the only fucking idiot here that is brain dead enough to even consider adding them to this conversation. You know, the one in this "Camaro (American) vs. Skyline (Japanese)" thread?
Nice rep, BTW. Wonder how you earned that one...

Dude, did you even look at the writing below it? In case you can't read it because of your monitor resolution or something, I'll type it out for you (Not trying to be a dick btw).
"American Flag: $25, Gasoline $2, Cigarette Lighter $2.50... Catching yourself on fire because you are a terrorist asshole? PRICELESS"
It's saying that it's priceless that a fucking piece of shit terrorist is getting what he deserves by lighting himself on fire while TRYING to burn a US flag. Dude, I have mad respect for servicemen. My grandfather served in Korea, some of my best friends are in the USMC and USAF. I have an american flag in front of my house every day (unless it's raining), and rock a support our troops ribbon on my Prelude.
I guess I don't get why you're so pissed off. If it's the fact that an American flag is burning, then I understand. But in the context of the image and statement, it's saying that terrorists are getting what they deserve.
So after saying all of that, are you threatening to somehow post my personal information on a military message board so some soldiers can come and beat the shit out of me for rocking a sig online that depicts a terrorist sustaining extreme burns for trying to burn an American flag? I would assume that they would laugh at it like I did, and say "Yeah that fucker deserves what he's getting". I just don't get how this offends you... I mean, I even supported the flag burning amendment. They should have banned that shit.
BTW man, I've had this sig up for at LEAST 6 months now... you've posted in numerous threads that I've posted in, why mention it now? (once again, not being a dick). Have a bad day or something? Get into an argument with someone about the flag burning amendment? Just curious
Oh, and mad respect for you too man. Where did you serve? Iraq? Afganistan? My ex has 2 cousins serving in Iraq right now, I have a buddy that really wants to go there that is in OCS right now for the USMC. Marine Sniper/Recon... he's psyched

NSX is most likely coming back with a V10 (promised) and all-wheel drive (likely). Unfortunately it will most likely be priced in the $100,000+ range, which puts it out of our argument basically.
Skyline is currently being produced in Japan... it's the G35 here. They are coming out with a car named the "GT-R" which is completely different and is expected to cost $85,000+... so I would think that's pretty close to out of the argument considering a Z06 can be had for roughly $20,000 less and would still out perform it.
Supra is just speculation... nothing concrete heard yet. If it does come back however, look at the trend above... it won't be priced around $30,000, that's for sure...

The new GTR is going to be a overweight, underpowered car. It is not going to be like the R34 GTR's and stuff.

Exactly... it will only cost that much
Honestly, I'm kinda put off by the fact that Japan STILL hasn't come out with a response/alternative to this new breed of american super/muscle car. When I say this, I'm not intending to imply the new Mustang GT or anything... let's face it, it's nice but not spectacular.
What I mean is you have cars like the 2006 Shelby Mustang GT500, 2006 Corvette Z06, Ford GT, Dodge Viper... and what do the Japanese have to compare? I mean yeah the Viper and GT are priced pretty high... But the GT500 and Z06 are totally affordable. The only thing that really comes close anymore is the NSX which costs around $30,000 more than either of these cars, and it would still get smacked down by the American cars.
Just seems weird to me... You'd think that since these Japanese companies can offer a family sedan that is both nicer and cheaper than its american counterparts, they could provide a muscle car with the same characteristics... All I see are cars that are both overpriced and underpowered...

They dont want to, to focused on saving gas milage. Japan has never put out a true super car on a mass produced level. Sure you got your 787B's and Mugen NSX's but they are not/never have been openly sold to the public.

Yeah... amazingly enough, most people don't buy high end sports cars and it's cheaper to make car parts overseas. Crazy stuff there.

< sigh > Can we stay on topic here? When did our argument over the best foreign or domestic muscle cars turn into discussing Toyotas subcompact market share...
