That's correct, they focus on that and much else that fits the lifestyle. Over here in Okinawa for example everything is crammed, so "K" cars are the most common type of car you see out on the roads because of their compact size and other factors.

I know how it is man I lived over there for 2 years up in Tokyo at the AFB. Yakota or whatever. It is cramped and to tell the truth there are nowhere near as many people over there that are in to modding cars or are into cars at all compared to here. It's all about working and drinking most the time. Fun place though, I'd jump at the chance to go back.

Huh? You mean it's not all m4D TiZZitE ToKyo drIFtiN with a Skyline or RX-7 in every garage in Japan?!? No way.
Funny thing is, all the ricers probably think you're lying.

Japan has had few true sports cars
Definition of a sports car is as follows
Quote:
|
An automobile equipped for racing, especially an aerodynamically shaped one-passenger or two-passenger vehicle having a low center of gravity and steering and suspension designed for precise control at high speeds.
|
To me the only ones that really qualify is the NSX, RX-7 and that is about it.

True. Going by that definition wouldn't you have to put the Skyline GT-R's there? because of the ATTESA...

What strategy? They don't have to pay their workers half as much as GM does. GTFO

hmm, well going back to the new jap cars coming out, the new skyline is gonna be pretty nasty on the track, should prove to be good competition for the gt500, and z06, as will the evo 10 (dont know the roman numeral thingy :P).
Anyway....funny thread. especially since this vid is so damn old...makes me wonder how many forums this went around and had the same conversation.

You stupid motherfuckers amaze me. Do you not realize that it was "the dumb American white boys" that first started modding cars, making something out of what they have(kinda like us people with Honda's do)
You fucking idiots dont stop and think, we as in us American white boys were slapping swaps in cars before the japs knew their ass from a hole in the ground. You think the Skyline is allmighty king shit......well not till modded. Stock it is a overweight 320hp car woopty fucking do. The Supra.....nothing but a dyno queen. You know the difference between a 550hp and a 800hp Supra is??????? About .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile but yet it is some godlike car, yea fucking right.
How many Toyota's do you see that are full production cars and sold around the world blistering mid 11's in the 1/4 mile and killing the nurburgring(sp?) in 7 minutes and 40 seconds.....NONE, same way with Nissan.......NONE.......same way with Honda......NONE, but wait the C6 Z06 will. And it is not only that these cars will do good stock, you can sneeze and fart at a 3rd gen GM V8 equiped car/truck and gain 50hp.
Same way with the late model Ford 4.6's and 5.4's. Fuck hp per liter, that bullshit hp per liter shit does nothing for you on a track when your getting your ass handed to you. Oh but wait it looks better on paper which we all know really matters in the real world..... .

the best post in this whole fucking thread.
