not really, only if you know what you 're doing. if you're gonna boost an older honda then yes. but the new hondas are expensive and cost an arm and a leg to mod properly. the only cheap way to to mod any honda is buy an old one and do a motor swap and strip the shit out of it. or buy an old honda and boost the shit out of it. If i wanted bang for buck i'd pick up an old fox-body and blow 6grand into it and destroy everything in sight.

that 70grand price tag isn't just for performance, it's an all weather/ all situation car. that civic would be worthless in any bad weather, isn't fully loaded and i'm sure it weighs in at less than 2200 lbs. that skyline stock weighs in at 3800 lbs without the driver. not to mention i'm sure the performance components of the skyline are under less stress than that civics. and lets see how much ass you get with a civic over a gtr

Well I assume you know what your doing if you mod anything. And the 1500 price tag won't buy you anything new. But yes you also make good points!
Don't get me wrong I was only talking about performance. The r35 will get you assloads of ass. It is ALOT sexier than a Honda, and IMO looks better than a Honda. If I could have one over the other I would definitely take the r35.

if you got both cars for free. the r35 already run's an 11.3 stock. the civic run's a 15 at best. the r35 is boosted with more displacement and weighs a helluva lot more. what do you think will happen to that 11.3 1/4 mile time when you drop it to around 3k lbs and put boltons on with some ecu tweaking? i wouldn't say you'll make the civic faster for cheaper. but you the money saved on the price tag will take you further is the correct way to phrase it.

Wow, a Civic isn't meant for handling (I mean it's no Miata or other type of touring car/roadster, but come on)? Why else own one? If I wanted a drag/dyno queen I would buy a f*ckin fox-body 'Stang, LS1 FC, or better yet something retarded like a LS1 Chevette or Fiero and boost the piss out of it...Civic's are fun because they handle good, they're light, good platforms to mod, and relatively cheap...
Even if you get the best suspension piece's out there the civic's in the US still will not handle good at a high speed because of the weight of the car and they just weren't designed to do what we build them to do, believe me I know one of my hatch's easily breaks 160+ and it is handle full on the big end. The civic's over in Japan probably do handle good but still not enough for competitive track racing against a lot of cars it out run in a straight line.
