the top secret supra is only making about 800hp... and it is in that group of super fast top speed cars. 200mph +

you talk about an "easy" 1000hp skyline. it's not that easy.

the 350 can be made to make 1000hp really easily... the vette doesn't have nearly as complex a support system as a skyline will. it doesn't need as many parts to make that kind of power either, as the small block chevy is pretty stout. and there's tons of aftermarket support, so making 1000hp in a 350 is pretty easy. easier than a skyline.

also... the note on "it couldn't rape one"

it couldn't rape the car on exvitermini.com, but that doesn't mean it can't rape em all. i'm not sure that there are many skylines (that aren't converted for full drag racing) that are under 9s.

the number of vettes under 9s is astronomical... some of em make less than 1000hp too...

and i'm not putting the skyline down, but the potential of the vette is higher. you can make 2000+ out of a 350. and it's been done. alot.

talkin to me? i agree that its easy to make a lot of power out of a 350, but there are numerous skylines breaking the 1000hp mark are are still streetable

talking in general...

there are people that think it's a. really easy to do in a skyline and b. the whole population of skylines has these capabilities.

i know it can be done, and the motor can make up to 1600, but so can a 350, and it's a. cheaper and b. easier in the 350.

i'm not knocking the skyline, but there are a few people who believe it to be invincible. some skylines are close, yes, and that's what we read about. but it's like anything. the average skyline isn't "that amazing"... know what i mean?

also... whoever said that the only good US car is a cadi... GM makes cadi. GM makes chevy makes corvette.

the lingenfelter car in question is by far of much higher quality than anything churned out by GM. vettes are top of the line and on a level equal or higher than the cadi in question.

the lingenfelter vette would be much different than the regular "shitty" US car. get over it.

i'm not saying you should take either... i'm a fan of both.

it's just that there are so many "skyline is god" people here that no one can see when there's something that is/has been better. the vette has been able to do this stuff for years. and it's not just the vette.

that's the issue really...

I wish my turbo si coud put out those kind of numbers.
but how much more you gotta pay for the lingenfelter compared to a skyline or any japanese supercars....

what do you think a 1000hp skyline that can run with that lingenfelter is going to cost you?

let me know what you think that turbo upgrade alone would cost, and then the bottom end work... it's not cheap

if i remember... there was a supra a while back in an import mag, and they listed his upgrades, all from hks, and it was about 40k in hks parts...

hell an upgraded pair of turbos can run up to 20k alone... so...

and since we're all in the states...

start with an 80k skyline.
as opposed to a 50k vette...

the vette's got more power already...

add on a ton of cash to get the skyline to a reliable 1000hp...

you're in lingenfelter territory...

why would you think it would be cheaper to build the skyline?
