Yes the car was stock except for the exhaust(Custom Flowmaster, manufactured and disgned by yours truly!) And he kept her in 1st gear!

it's probably got a really low ring and pinion allowing it to go over 40mph in 1st

Stock Crown Vics rear-ends run the mustang 2.73 rear. So 1st goes to 53mph 2nd is 86 drive is 100 and shuts off at 117 in O/D..
