wanna know whats even funnier? seeing it happen in real life. I was out at the street races about a year or so ago, and i was in the passenger seat of my friends grand am gt. This guy in a a 95 green mustang gt pulls up and my friend asks him if he wanted to run. I asked him something along the lines of if it was fast and he just got a stupid grin on his face and proceeded to do a burnout. He smoked the clutch for at least a minute before he realized what he did. Everybody was laughing their ass off. It ended up being completly stock too. Best part was he had to get it towed because he really fucked his clutch.
Mods: K&N Filter, home made 3" exhaust, walbro 255lph fuel pump, exedy clutch. Rebuilt motor myself with ARP bolts. Has about 190rwhp now, should be good for 350+ after other upgrades.
Havn't seen the vid yet. But roasting your clutch isn't that hard. All you have to do is hit the break hard, and that will almost always (unless the engine isn't powerfull enough) make the clutch start slipping.
And if the clutch is allready worn down its even easier.
I accidentally did it just before the origional clutch gave out in my Z28. It was just for a sec. I punched it, and droped the clutch at the same time, and I didn't hear any wheel spin, so I assume the clutch didn't grab.
By that point the clutch had over 110k miles on it though, and after me beating on it, it was pretty worn down. I drove it for a few weeks more but it was slipping easier and easier, and you could hear the pilot bearing grinding, so I had it replaced (and the one they replaced it with was much worse than the stock clutch!)
