i'm sorta confused since i dont speak japanese. is that a Normal GTR or a MINES gtr cause in the first video you see the GTR with a mines logo on the front bumper. either way its crazy how a 3700ish pound car can handle like that.

Looks like they just upgraded the brakes and exhaust system. not bad for being out for 3 weeks in japan.

0-62mph 3.83secs, im sure the porsche 997turbo has managed 3.2ses to 62mph.
Braking performance
GTR 100>0km/h (62,5mph)=121.4ft
Compared with:
Z06 100>0km/h (62,5mph)=111ft
997 Turbo 100>0km/h (62,5mph)=108ft
So both the 911Turbo and the ZO6 can out brake the GTR, even though the GTR has R compound racing tires.
There was also a GTR vs 997 Turbo test, but as usual there was the Nissan GTR bullshit,
997 Turbo had worn out tyres.
They used the tiptronic which is a bit heavier and slower around the track due to the tiptronic gearchange. It also lacks the LSD of the manual i believe.
Also the car was "Mines" car which allthough the video said it was stock it has all the interior took out and has had one Recaro Racing seat placed instead, i dont think there are any back seats, check the first GTR time attack video you can clearly see the recaro and there doesnt seem to be any other seats. I would think those leather seats in the Stock gtr must weigh quite alot considering they have electronic adjustments and leather.
Take a look at this "Mines" GTR
Mines GTR
Is that the same GTR that they used in this test, as i dont think "Mines" had two GTRs.
Also When "Mines" first got a GTR they timed Tsukuba in 1.03.1 sec with a STOCK GTR (if it was actually stock i dont know probably the same with stripped out interior) , They then spent time on making parts for the GTR from the link above, now they have managed 1.01.940 on Tsukuba, which makes me wonder did the leave on some of the parts they made for the gtr, the exhaust system was meant to make 500whp+, the suspension would be lighter and stiffer. it also looks to me like theres less body roll in the corners than other videos
GTR Time Attack
911Time Attack
911vs GTR

if this isn't enough evidence that they have changed the suspenion.....
i don't think they painted red and put a sticker on it.

Guys........stock vs stock, GTR is quicker than both the Turbo and ZO6. FACT!! But in the hands of the common man, performance will be negligible.
Everyone knows, the true test for any car is the Nurburgring. The GTR has the quicker time and was timed on a partially wet track.

7:38 run was on cut slicks. Even the Nurburgring Times list shows this, and the independent test of ~7:50 shows that *something* was done with the car that did the 7:38 run. I firmly believe that it was not stock, because the time is simply too close to CGT times, and while this Nissan is fast, it's not *that* fast. I wouldn't believe that a *stock* Z06 or 997 TT ran close to a 7:35 time either. Nor do a believe that a *stock* GTR ran close to a 7:35 time.
Yes, humidity also affects horsepower. I pulled up the historic data for Nurburg, Germany, and the humidity was pretty much at 80-90% every day of the year; no difference between Summer and Winter.
The tracks in the U.S. typically have much better weather than in Germany or the U.K. The auto mags like Car And Driver and Motortrend also tend to do same day/same track tests to run all cars, and I've rarely seen an article where they said the track was damp -- they just don't test like that.
In my opinion, I'm sure that Nissan got a 7:38:xx time, but I'm just as sure that it was NOT in a production trim vehicle. The high 7:40's or low 7:50's by an independent puts it in very good company. The following are what Sport Auto got when they drove the listed cars. The 1st listed time is Hockenheim, and the 2nd is Nurburgring.

According to a PistonHeads article, what Mizuno actually said was that cut slicks were used, and what they didn't use was FULL slicks. Here's the article from | |
