Hey dumbass... by the way I dont have "alot more mods than you"... if you know how to read... All I have is an Intake... shit for brains... And a custom stereo.. yeah that adds power doesnt it? not it makes me slower, and yeah I wanna race a big V8 with my tiny 4 banger.. well I can put up a good race, u better beat me since you have about twice as much engine size as i do.. and anyways why would you compare a Type-R to a Cobra... First of all a cobra is a V8 again! maybe if it was a 4cyl you might have some room to talk, but you dont... Your engine size is exactly 2.55 times the size of a Type-R... u need an extra 4 cly and another 2.8 liters to keep up with a 4cyl 1.8... thats what your saying... and your car cant even do it... how much did you pay for your GT?? and how much is a Cobra?? Dont get me wrong either I like domestics.. I had a 67' mustang fastback with a 289... I loved the power, but I wanted a car a little up to date interior wise... So I went with an Integra... Now all Im trying to say is dont look down on all Honda/Acura cars and say they are slow.. cuz not all of them are.. NSX of course but its a way high price, but the Type-R and s2000 are good buys for the money.. Now I have seen Type-R's run 14's... one was a friend that had only an intake and ran a best of 14.2... That just goes to show that Some engines are built fully for performance, and if you wanna compare cobra's thats fine... as a matter of fact if a cobra was slower than a Type-R it would be the crappiest car ever because it has an engine 2.5 times as big and has almost 2 times as much horsepower... you better hope its fast.. but for a 1.8 cyl. it will kick lots of ass's.. even if you need a bigger engine just to lose to it.... enough said--

I just dont understand how you think you can beat me. Also, alot of the reason american cars use larger displacement engines is because people like to actually feel like your going fast. They want to have some TQ in there engines. Ive riden in a low 15 second GSR and a 15 second stock mustang. The mustang felt way faster. How cool would a mustang with a 2.2 litre 4cylinder be with 11 to 1 compression and 8000 RPMs. It wouldnt be a mustang anymore. IT wouldnt have any grunt. Any low end power or TQ. My friend has an S2000. He rode in my car and he was like holy shit you will kick my ass. Then we raced and i only put like a car length on him to 100. We both plan on modding our cars. And he realizes once i start doing mods to my car he isnt going to be able to keep up. S2000s and Type Rs pretty much come maxed out from the factory, you can get a few my hp out of them. Where as my car. Gains alot of power from minor bolt ons. Especially from rear end gears(just speed). So far just from exhaust mods ive gained 25rwhp. And there are alot more bolt ons that i can do that add a good amount of power. My car is choked down from the factory it just needs to be opened up with a few mods. After my 3.73 gears install ill be in the 13s. And as far as a type R goes. If Ford took meaures to make a mustang lighter. Via, Racing seats, no A/C or powr options, Removing sound deadening, im sure they would alot faster. But then a majority of the buyers would complain and go elsewhere. The only arguement you guys have is the displacement and it gets old. If a car is slow its slow. Oh but i have more hp per litre BLA BLA BLa

since this IS supposed to talk of the turbo vs. 5.0 race....

it sounded like the guy in the 5.0 said he cant race, then changed his mind, he got blown away way too easy i think, or thats the baddest f*cking civic ive never seen.

youre calling me the dumbass, hehe, you call that first one a sentence???

Your speed kills quote is blatant plagarism from another member's quote that said to drive a domestic to live forever.

I'm just curious, how much was your crustang GT?:

Man oh man..I work for a Ford dealership and I know how shitty ford products are made. Mustangs are peices of shit. Plain and simple. I drive them everyday. See how long your 5.0 lasts when you start to mod it. Seriously. If you have a problem with imports or you just like to pick fights, go to another board. Why not instead of wasting your time 'trying' to convince people to buy mustangs, use your time wisely and learn how to make your car faster with people that share the same opionons as you. Honestly grow up, you like your style of cars, and import people like theirs. GIVE IT UP.

First of all I never said that if you were talking to me...

Yeah, but then again your engine is 2 and a half times bigger which means it should get more power, right??... All Im saying is you have to give some respect for those 4clys that can go as fast as V6's and V8's.... Espically straight from the factory...

Type-R's have A/C... its an option.. and its not like a total hollow car, its pretty comfortable for a sports car, and remember when buying a sports car, its going to feel like one... if you want luxury, go buy a luxury car....and its not like racing seats and less sound deadening would make the mustang oh so fast... it would add up to mabe 100 pounds at the most that u would be taking off the car..

Well all you argue about is our "insane compression".. and that gets old too... sorry to burst your bubble but compression is not as big of a deal as displacement... you have what? 9:1.. and i have 10.1:1... oo and a Type-R is 10.8:1, oops wait thats suppose to be 10.6:1... sorry but its not that much of a difference.. and if you do want to argue displacement why can't you beat a Viper GT... since you have a Mustang GT.. and thats the Viper's "middle class".. and the upper class is a GTS, why cant you beat that?? Why cant a cobra beat a Viper GTS??its the same thing as comparing a Type-R to a Cobra... Totally different cars....

Anyways, how much did you pay for your GT?? I paided $19,800 for my GS-R new...

I paid 7900 dollars for it one year ago, with 7900 miles on it. And actually that quots is all over the stangnet boards. And as far as the engine being reliable. There are guys with over 450rwhp on stock internals at stangnet.com And plenty who road race and drag race them. Id like to see an integra with that much power be anywhat reliable. And i do give respect to a few of your cars. Type R and S2000. But as far as the rest goes. They are just built for good gas mileage and not speed. I just cant stand when people Build of EX,DX,CX civics or LS integra and think they are fast when they run 16s or even high 15s maybe. And they think they can beat any Domestic car. When the truth is Domestic Sports cars are faster. A basline Mustang or camaro Automatic is going to beat even a 5-speed bottom of the line model integra or civic. Top of the line Mustangs like 2003 cobras that run in the 12s or chevy LS1s are even faster then an NSX and are priced 60% less.

beemrmem3, i can see where you're coming from about 12 second timeslips on LS1's and the new Cobra, but dude, in MOST cases, not all, but MOST, people see driving an NSX or ITR more PRESTIGIOUS than an american topoftheline....dont get me wrong, i LOVE the sound of a WS6 or SS pulling on the freeway, but it just FEELS so much more prideful if you can pull on THEM with a built "granny's grocery getter"......my point is lets stop comparing apples to oranges and lets "all get along"...hahah...late
