All in all the Ford is a nice car for what it was designed for, A muscle car, drag strip. Don't go flamen on us imports because your car isn't as cool, and is so fast just because of it's displacement, you will never be able to match the HP per liter and even the TQ per liter that we put out with our B D K and H series engines. on the video, that civic pushes 11's, i can vouch ive seen it at a track with time slips and everything, not on a road where i guessed it was an 11. The guy said he couldnt race because his gears were topping out so they slowed down so he would have more room to work with, and it did seem like she jumped the gun but it would not have mattered the stang was dead either way. oh yea and ive decided that im gonna get that BOV.
on the argument, my biggest beef with what has been said is that there is no new technology. The civic is pushin right around 20 lbs on a bottom end with nothing but a block guard all acieved with t00ning, thats right t00ning not lust lowered compression and a big turbo, and what does this kind of t00ning take to pull off, technology. so dont say that there is no new technology. Id rather have a new cobra over an S2000 anyday. I want to go fast. And i wont be going fast in an S2000. maybe 14s is fast enough for you. But id rather be in the high 11s or low 12s. Hmm the cobra is a second and a half faster and easier to mod and get power out of. In the new mustang mag they strapped one on a dyno and put a K&N cone filter on. They went from 360rwhp to 385, no joke. Go ahead and put two engines in a type R, with all the money it would cost for the engine and fabrication id already be well ahead of whatever it could run with the same amount of money. And do you know why the viper only makes that much horsepower per litre. Cause they want it to be reliable. Id like to see any natural or turbo 2.0 or 1.8 push 500hp reliabley, day in and day out. Also RWD is better then even AWD. Drag cars pull much better times with RWD the AWD. Dave Buscher with the worlds fastest DSM converted to RWD. He pulls 1.2 60's Sean glazar is the fastest AWD he pulls high 1.4s. You would not need to convert a to AWD on a stang. Also again, there are guys in 5.0s getting the same amount of power per litre as you little ricers. With new heads cam and intake we are just about there. And with a high compression bottom end build like 10.5 to one and notched pistons we are over that on 92 octane gas. So push rods are low tech huh. No, its just another way of working the vavles. A cheaper and easier to fix way at that. Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against modular engines. Also the import drag cars with 2.0litre engines are pushing 1000 hp. Well thats only 500hp per litre compared to Top fuels 7500hp out of 8.2 litres. Thats almost 1000hp per litre, and you use pushrods suck huh. And they both use nitromethane. Also look at your precious toyotas V-8. Oh whats this only 240hp out of a 4.7 litre V-8. Thats only 51hp per litre. And not much more tq per litre. Id like to see honda make an inexpensive V-8 with over 4.0litres making 100hp per litre. It just cant be done, thats why ford doesnt make 500hp 5.0s. They want to keep cost down, and leave it up to the owner to decide if he wants that hp or not. Its not like ford cant build small engines with almost 100hp per litre. Look at the SVT Focus, 170hp. Also the Cosworth Focus puts out 300hp out of a 2.0. Buts its only sold in europe.
