think about it,I own a 70 galaxy 500 with 470 hp, she's pretty fast but HEAVY. I also own a prelude with over half the hp and weight but it's much,much faster. I cant say bad about imports or domestics cause I own both.but my galaxy get 9 mile to the gallon. who cares if domestics are faster I would hope so. I think it envy because no more camero,no more firebird, cause everyones buying "racecars".i mean imports.

My *ucking rich friend has two cars.
One is a '00 Saleen Mustang Conv. and another is a '01 Honda S2000.
His saleen is hella modded...like kits, bolt-ons...and everything. (400+hp)
His S2k is stock (240hp), but I asked him yesterday how u like ur cars.
Then he said "Saleen has power and speed, but I like my S2k more cuz its fun to drive!...and it's getting girls! "
He is not a domestic hater or what...
Maybe ur mustang has more horses than S2K or NSX, but people who buy S2Ks and NSXs think "Power is not everything. Must concern how fun my car will be."

OK, first of all that 5.0 wasnt even racing. That looked like the typical ricer fly-by to me. By the way I own a bolt-on GSR. I know how incredibly slow civics are compared to 5.0s. I never do a fly-by when racing domestics. I always line up with them and race them fairly and always get my ass handed to as I should. They are respectively faster cars then me. The original person who posted this is an idiot. There are plenty of 8 second street stangs prowling out there...my neighbor has one close to 9s and its NA. What if she had pulled next to him on the street. Would you still post that video...I dont think so. I always give the domestic guys a thumbs up when racing. They always beat me. I know Im not fast, I dont PRETEND to be something Im not. NO offense, but it seems like most ricers have this fasination with beating 5.0s. It always seems like they use mustangs as their racing yard stick. Almost as if they have to prove their manhood by beating a muscle car....grow up. The domestic guys don't dream of beating imports. How often do you hear a civic owner boasting and bragging about beating another civic or a gsr...You dont, theyre obsessed with beating mustangs. ok stumbleine im right there with u i drive a LS 4dr auto with bolt ons i know im not fast but ill race anything that wants to race me i know im gonna lose but its still fun to see what othere peoples cars are capable of. But saying that civic did a fly by was not cool, u say civics are slow and i agree most are but that one is not. By the way.. a Cobra is supercharged, and an s2000 isn't... so u need a supercharged V8 to beat a naturally aspirated 4cly huh? Sounds like fords being lazy on the tech. side of their engines.. I rather have an s2000 then supercharge it with the extra cash since they are a couple grand less than a cobra... then it would look better and be faster!!!

And my car averages 21mpg not bad for the power its putting out.

there are plenty of imports that will beat you . overseas they put 4 cylinder engines in supras. why i dont know but i have seen it in a 200 mile an hour car. it was the mr2 motor. maybe weight. second mod for mod a integra will own you in auto x. so will a mazda protege mp3 miata rx7 etc. hell in road and track the mp3 pulled 1.13 g. what does your car pull stock.

actually all the time that is why we like to beat them. hell at my work everyone has mustangs and when i beat them they say i have nos or a turbo. hell i gave one guy a slight head start and he went to work and said we raced from a roll. second after a while nobody wanted to race. but as soon as i fuck up my head and syncros in my tranny. everyone wants to race. hell with a bad syncros .. every gear second is the worse i lost by four cars with a mildly modded gsr i/h/e flywheel clutch iceman etc. didnt even use the venom 400 which seems to make a difference in the low end. its all about your combo and how you set it up. by the way both cars had 90xxx plus miles. now that i have my tranny ordered he doesnt race any more.

A cheaper and easier to fix way at that. Dont get me wrong, i have nothing against modular engines. Also the import drag cars with 2.0litre engines are pushing 1000 hp. Well thats only 500hp per litre compared to Top fuels 7500hp out of 8.2 litres. Thats almost 1000hp per litre, and you use pushrods suck huh. And they both use nitromethane. Also look at your precious toyotas V-8. Oh whats this only 240hp out of a 4.7 litre V-8. Thats only 51hp per litre. And not much more tq per litre. Id like to see honda make an inexpensive V-8 with over 4.0litres making 100hp per litre. It just cant be done, thats why ford doesnt make 500hp 5.0s. They want to keep cost down, and leave it up to the owner to decide if he wants that hp or not. Its not like ford cant build small engines with almost 100hp per litre. Look at the SVT Focus, 170hp. top fuel cars run on nitromethane and alcohol something that as of yet is banned for us second the cobra tested in car and driver barely ran with the camaro guys and you guys know the ls1 owns the mustang. i bet you guys sit there and say man i wish i could beat that bowtie except no matter what i do dollar for dollar they got me whipped. hell some bolt on camaros eat up supercharged pony turds. also we can make more runs on the cars without rebuilding. we would rule topfuel. but thats not our game anyone can put a solid block in their car and compress nitromethane to ungodly proportions and the top fuel race isnt won with power. 100 hp means nothing nor 200 its all about driving and traction. and you are camparing our puny production motors to 10000 dollar blocks and 100 thousand parts and chassis. well thank you i am glad to know that our cars are the benchmarks to compare your top fuel cars too. and you dont know shit about buscher. he converted because he was making too much hp for the all wheel drive and needed a built transmission. i think he runs a glide.
Yes, he was making to much power all wheel drive, like i said. So he uses RWD for better launches. A super charged s2000 would not be as fast as a 2003 cobra. Just look in the new car and driver. The built a supercahged 2000. It went from 14.1 to 13.7. Wow sure is great. Blown302.... how am i being an idiot. Im just stating fact.

I am going to have to side with beemrmem3 here. He is simply defending himself against ricers that think they can run a 13.7 in their ITR with a "muffer". Some of you are blind. Truthfully there is only a few ways to match the speed/dollar that domestics offer.
1. Nitrous- My weapon of choice. 500 for 75 additional horses.
2. Motor swaps- Get an old Civic hatch with a blown motor for 2 grand and drop a H22A in it for 4 grand. Mid 13's or possible high 12's with slicks.
3. Insane weight reduction. Free!
If your arguement is hp/liter, then get over it. Who cares who has the most hp/liter if you still lose.
However I would simply never chose a Mustang over my Lude. It can't touch it in the ways that I care about. It looks better, cheaper to insure, gets better gas mileage, picks up more ladies, handles better, and can hold its own in a straight line with most domestics. Of course I spent 25 on the car and about 7 on mods. I could have bought a new GT for 23 and have it in the 11's by now. To each his own. Don't flame beemrmem3 for stating the truth and defending himself.

Wow something actually worth reading. I agree with everything you said lude. I do like preludes also. But i think modded mustangs look better. ITs personel preference in the looks category. Everything you said is true. But saying your lude handles better is iffy. If i had suspension mods too, i think we would be about the same. Mustangs are great handlers, you just need new shocks and springs, the stock suspension is mushy. They do come with good size rollbars stock and a strut tower brace, so there isnt much roll. Theres just to much give in the shocks and springs.
Im glad you dont drive a stang though, your car is sweet. Cool guys like you make cars like yours cool. I dont think everyone should own a stang. Its nice to keeps things diverse. And i need peopel to whoop on..j/K Your lude is probably faster then mine with that 75shot. Nice

Guys with slower civics and tegs calling a 5.0's "5.slows". Guys coming up with such lame excuses as Hp/lt and high tech to compensate for their lesser numbers and lesser output. It's funny how everybody compares their "new" top of the line import to a 5.0 from 15 years back.

GT-40 - 500hp
Saleen S7 - 550
Z06 - 405hp
03 S/c Cobra - 425-450hp
Ls-1 ws6/SS - 350hp
Ls-1 c5 - 350-360
And other cars from tuners/manufacturers such as Saleen/Roush/Steeda/lingenfelter
Everyone of those production cars have a displacement over 4.6L. But since they aren't 2600lb 4 bangers revving upto 9k rpms, they don't deserve your respect. Your only reply would be "but they're low-tech". Or "they can't handle" when all could run circles around you.
Open up your eyes people. Some cars don't need to make 100hp/Lt, or revv to 9k rpms to make power. Displacement is an advantage, not the disadvatage some of you make it out to be. A properly built small/big block v8 is capable of making more power then any other production/race engine. There's low tech for you.

not to be an ass or anything, but can you elaborate on how much all those cars on your list cost??? yah uhhhh... the cheapest on is like 30Gs and then it skyrockets to 40 and then at last to like 400Gs for the S7:
