Do you have to own a BMW to participate in any of these events? I know a few people who do, but I would really like to drive my own car...
its on baby. I'll try to make it to at least 3 or 4 events at the coliseum.

If I two-step your A$$ then you know I'm serious!
I have to check out my school schedual and my work scedual, but I think I can make a few events. I've never done this sort of thing before, but my friends won't stop talking about it. So, to let you all know I'm a first timer and know nothing about driving around a course. But I'm sure to have fun.

we were all first timers . you'll be fine, just make sure you get there early so you have time to register, get your car ready and still have time to walk the course once or twice.

i walk 3 or 4 times and still get lost out there (once in a while)...
I walk it twice since those guys rush to get it done so quick. most of the time there isn't time to walk it more.
at the beginning I used to get "tunnel vision" since I was only focusing on the cones immediately close. now I try to broaden my vision and get a feel for the course ahead. I also try to work in the first heat so I can watch others run and see/think of what I should do when i go out.

Well thanks for all the encuragement, it is surely needed.
I just checked my school and Work scehdual, it seems that I might be able to make one event; maybe. I'll have to talk with my boss. (July, 28th Saturday).
If I don't swap my engine in the month of August, I can make some other events, but I really want to swap.
and after 10 years i'm still stuck with my stock d16y7...
(with over 320,000 miles )
I am in Long Island right now. On the way here I passed a Civic that looked identical to yours, except it had Type-R wheels Gold. and it was parked in front of a Isusu GT Turbo Black w/ Gold Volks. It was sick. It was right around Queens College.
Anywho, I am going to Rockland County, NY tonight to go racing and hanging out at whats called Car Club. If it rains we will probably go to the mall.
I asked all the guys at the races tonight if they ever auto crossed and non of them seemed too interested, most of them were just into the quarter mile. Some of them were into it, but they were all WRX and Evo guys, nothing I could come close to competing with.
