San Diego Area Mechanic

Anybody have any recommendations on mechanics in the San Diego area? Strange noise coming from the timing belt and valves and thought i'd get it looked at.

why dont you look at it? what kind of noise? does the belt show much wear? just a little estimated guess, i'd imagine its something with your camshaft that would cause noise in the valves and something to fuck with the timing belt.

im just wondering, cause if its the cam, you can change that yourself. but hey if you dont trust yourself with your car and wanna have a professional do it and you got the $, thats completely understandable man. but im sorry i dont know of any mechanics in the SD area. hope you get it fixed, let us know how it goes ok?

See, this is the kind of stuff that makes me laugh when I come upon threads as such. Why not pull out a phone book, call around and see who can hook you up with an inspection and the take it from there? I haven't come across anyone on here from SD. At least that I'm aware of. Don't you have buddies down there?

Yes this thread is kind of dumb. Why dont you just go to a local shop and find one?

Wow. Tough crowd.

Obvious choices would be to ask friends or look through a phone book, but if you have no discerning honda owning friends or a phone book that can differentiate between the good/bad mechanics then it'd make sense to come speak with Honda enthusiasts. Which, my friends, is why i'm here.

Any with recommendations?

In San Marcos, there is Infinite Motion. Good shop for repairs. Rob gives accurate estimates. Just about everybody in North County that has a Honda/Acura seems to know about the place.

A guy at work knows a good place in Kearny Mesa, but I left that info at work. I myself would like to know a good place for Honda customizations.

I'm about 20 days late to the party, but Charlie's Auto Repair in Mira Mesa is a straight up shop. Fair rates, and an honest guy doing the work.
