its gorgeous out there. but their sales taxes are at 14%. im not sure how high it is in ontario. housing is expensive, probably on par with metro toronto in some places in van city. but i think car insurance is a little cheaper than ontario.

I've lived in the Vancouver area for essentially my whole life.. I've spent a fair amount of time in several other major Canadian cities, and perhaps its a biased opinion but i like Vancouver the most.. If you at all enjoy doing anything outdoors, be it hiking, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding etc.. etc.. then Vancouver is a great place to live, there are nothing but different places to go crazy doing that stuff around. Despite what people think, it doesnt rain here constantly, its got a nice mix.. weather is fairly stable, no extreme highs/lows. I dunno, if you're coming out to check it out, you'll be able to make your mind up, but I certainly have no reason to discourage your thoughts of moving... and cost of living is said to be "expensive" but it all depends on just how close to Vancouver you want to live... the further from the downtown core you live, obviously the cheaper it gets.. if you dont mind having to drive 30-45 min to Vancouver you can get a nice place out further in the valley... Coquitlam/Maple Ridge/Langley etc..etc.. but thats all personal pref. any more questions feel free to pm me..

BC is a great place to live though I might be biased because I live here
But just in case you are thinking about somewhere else besides Vancouver...
Calgary Alberta is the way to go (but then I might be biased again because I was born there )
But really the cleaness of both cities, Calgary would win period. Their chinatown, downtown, and overall everywhere else makes Vancouver look like a dirty crackwhore. Also the stampede is better then the PNE but its too spread out IMO
Overall Vancouver should still be slightly better I guess.

i lived in vancity for 7 years... and i'm on my 7th year in toronto as well...personally, i like vancity better. Nice scenery, ppl tend to be friendlier, and as far as cost of living, i would say it's about the same.
one last thing, they got a better hockey team
