AEM CamGears blow.

I didn't know where else to put this thread, so I put it here. Well, I think AEM CamGears blow. The bolt on my cam gear won't tighten. Well, actually it will, but it always gets loose after a bit of driving. So now paranioa builds up everytime I hit Vtec.

Anyone else have a bad experience with AEM CamGears?

I tightened them all right before I went on my drive. Rolled around and ripped it up 8400rpm style a few times... Then I later check my camgear... Loose bolt, thank you. Luckily it didn't come off.

I don't have a bad story about them. But I wouldn't buy cam gears from them again.

they are infamous for slipping, as they only have 3 screws to hold them in place, whereas STR and Skunk2 have 6...You can get some real nice STR cam gears on ebay for a small song and a dance, you should look into them

Actually I think STR cams have 5 bolts.

I haven't tried torqueing them to spec... Because I don't have a torque wrench, nor do I know the specs. I just tightened them as hard as I could. And I put threadlock on the bolt that kept comin loose.

the AEM cam gears have always been junk . they have slipped on us too many times. took em off and got better ones. I think we replaced them wit STR's. its been a few years.

10K rpm with an H22?!? You're intense dude.

I got the same bolts as on the intake side... The right side. I think that's the intake side. Why are yours purple?

yah, i'm running a skunk2 stage2 head. i onno why i have different bolts cuz i got them brand new, but not in the box....the shop i got them from said the ones on the exhaust side hold better?? but i haven't had any problems w/ any slippage w/ either side. i onno why they look purple in that pic? my car is blue so the reflection off the bling may be taking some of the blue
