just disconnect your intake from your throttle body when it rains and you will save money and horsepower

using the bypass vavle will almost always negate any gain you get from the cold air. if you plan on puttin ght by pass vavle, just get short ram.

it's not like he can just pull over and do it whenever it rains..

anyways, my suggestion is to get a short ram or even just drop in filters..

not worth the risk IMO..

i plan to sell my CAI =P

If you have extra money, get the comptech icebox. It's really hard to hydrolock.

I'd probably go for a replacement filter element. K&N are good (1 million mile warranty), & so is BMC. But I don't know if BMC make an element.

Haha, awesome. You're just too hardcore man. At least your statement helped lower my own worries of Hydrolocking.

But yeah, like others have said. The Bypass valve will prevent hydrolock 100%, but it'll take away power.

I swear, some people on here are just hilarious...You shouldn't even let the thought of buying a bypass valve in your head, it's a piece of junk and cuts your gain. Now of course the CAI sucks in cooler air (of course it does, look at the damn name), but the short ram sucks in more at higher rpms plus you won't have to worry about hydrolocking. Get a short ram intake, really doesn't matter what brand, throw a K&N Filter on it, and you'll be just fine.

Once you're moving, starting at about 40 mph, the ambient air temp in the engine bay is the same, people have tested this before by putting thermometer by their intakes. CAI are basically a waste of money.
