yeah guys i was just wondering what is the best single overhead cam motor honda makes, i.e. horspepower/tq. thinkin about a single cam turbo setup and just want to know which motor already has more power. doing it in my ej8 coupe. thanks for the input

I think the Y8 is more prone to rod bearing failure.
there are some turbo d series forums, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. if I come accross them I'll shoot them your way, unless you're already aware of them...either way, lemme know.
the bottom end on a d16z6 is better apparently because the d16y8 has oiling problems at higher power levels.
As far as I know the y8 head is nearly identical except the cams are just a tad more aggressive (not enough to really make too much of a difference), and from what I've heard the intake manifold is of a slightly better design.

supposedly the y8 head has more air flow
might as well take the best of both worlds though lol
D16z6 ftw. the y8 has a poor oiling system-- less pressure and less volume -- than the z6. and you could easily make a z6 flow just as good as a y8 head with a minor pnp
