I bought a set of bolt-outs from sears for removing some rusted bolts underneath the car. They are used for extracting rounded off or rusted bolts. Anyways, I tried to use them on these two hexagon sided bolts but the bolt-out just kept slipping off everytime I turn it with a ratchet. Am I supposed to use a hammer to get the bolt stuck onto the bolt-out and then turn the ratchet? If anyone has had experience using bolt-outs please help me out. I need to take off my front bumper to fix my headlights but the splash guards on the bottom of the bumper are held on by two rusted bolts that are kinda stripped. Thanks for your time.

It needs a good stab. Then twist.

Tried to use them today again. Still didn't work. I stabbed them onto the nut with a hammer but once I twisted the ratchet, it would come loose off the nut. Anyone actually own a set of bolt-outs from Craftsman and had success with removing rusted/rounded off bolts? However I was still able to remove the bolts by using some pliers and turning them real hard. I might just return the bolt-outs if I don't find any good use from them.
I used the craftman bolt extractor and it didn't work. We tried to remove a bolt from the lca and the shock. We end up torching the rubber out. But for you? Maybe you could cut the bolt at its tip and use a screw driver to unscrew it. This is only if the screw is not hella stuck though.
