ac

i removed all the ac components to make more space and just to get rid of shit i dont need. i live in south texas but i never use the ac unless im in a new car. taking the ac out dosent make drastic improvements. for me it was just for more work space. plus its not worth fixing if i plan to get a new car soon. its definately a good idea if your want to create more space.

yup, doing a timing belt with AC would SUCK lol.

I dumped it for the 55lb loss and the 3-4 hp.

Some say you might be stupid to take your a/c out..but it depends what your car is for..ddaily driver, street/strip car..etc. My integra is only running the alternator, I dont like the feeling of PS, and I live in upstate, NY...so there is no reason for AC. Its all in your preference..I don't mind driving a loud, stripped out non PS/ AC car..sitting in a sparco speed with some harnesses..but thats just me.

How many hours labor or how much would it cost to have my non-working A/C removed?
The reason is I don't want to get scammed by my local shop when I get a quote.
Would a non-mechanically inclined person be able to do it themselves?

hell yea, anyone with basic handtools can do it, its a matter of unbolting everything AC wise and yanking it out.

If there is still 134a or R12 in the system I would have it evacuated before pulling shit out just to make it easy, just don't go unplugging ac lines. You might have a little surprise bursting in your face.
