COULD USE SOME HELP - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

I've got a '90 toyota and its kinda slow. I've also got this friend with a Del Sol, and he does nothing but pick on me about my P.O.S. My other problem is that my car is carburated and I am having a hard time finding ways to make it a little faster. Is there anything I could do to my car to get it moving a little quicker and gaining a little respect? My friend says i should just sell it but I can't afford something nicer. Can anyone help me? :bh

do an engine swap to an early 90's toyota paseo motor and drop in a turbo.

Don't bother on your car. In the end, you'll end up wasting too much money that could have gone towards something better.

it's a tercel with the carburated motor, they offered them in fuel injection too i think but he got screwed over with that

ps. i only pick on him cuz it has a cherry bomb on it

i told him the only reasonable thing to do would be to get rid of it and just get a car that can be modded for less money and hassle

ok so the motor in it just blew the head....so we need something here quick. does anything besides the Paseo motor fit in without having to custom too many things? or should he just get a new head?

why does everyone talk about carbs as if they are inferior to EFI...they really arent they are just a different type of fuel delivery. Yes one that has been around longer but still has improved on the original design. As far as the kid with the toyota, get a job if you dont have one and save up until you can sell your car and use that money along with the money u have saved to get a decent car...for cost/speed look into a dsm, you can get them for cheap and they are pretty quick and easily modded.

he's still in college and he has a job he just needs this car so that he can get back and forth for the time being and he is looking into getting a better car once out of school he just needs to know where he can get either a new head for the car now since it's gone or a swap like the paseo motor we just have no clue where to go to look for stuff like this

just be patient and save up your money...

then drop it on something that doesn't take a ton of work and $$$ to build up..

btw i wouldn't let the del sol bother you...reminds me of my friend who had an 89 accord..we all picked on him till he went out and bought a WRX, modded it and runs 13.4 with 18" rims hahah
