Any one else does this? for instance take those old extra tools that people shove under the sink when they get new tool sets then use them to make better tools. I had to this the other day because i had a flat head i needed to screw in but where it was you couldnt get the flat head in. so we got one of those skinny ass flat heads that they sell at the front of dicount that cost like 80 cents. and cut it. then we welded the end of it to another old flat head. proplem solved and now I have some cool werid ass tool
made my own spring compressor once, took some 1/2 inch threaded rod and took some 1/2 inch steel and bent those at an angle. made 3 of them and used a impact wrench to tighten down the steel to compress the spring. worked pretty well, even though its crazy dangerous.

You should here the story regarding mrmyz's spring removal. No springs compressor was used. One of his friends pushed the top of the damper/spring unit through a wire fence, & mrz unbolted the plate that holds the spring captive...
myst1kazn02: haha..im still looking at that diagram udrew
myst1kazn02: that was retarded as hell hahaha
myst1kazn02: at least it's smarter than my dumbass friends
myst1kazn02: usually they'll get 3 or 4 guys to put their hands and lean on the spring while one unscrew it
myst1kazn02: it works for civic but will bust you in your nuts if you do it for accords
cheaters.. lol. when i took my shock assembly apart i just laid it on the ground and stepped on the spring.. then used a LONG wrench to loosen the bolt until SPROING!! the plate shot off and took the wrench right outta my hands.. took me like an hour to find the stupid nut in the gravel in front of my friends house. HAHA. next three i was smart enough to point the fucker at his garage wall. made finding the part a little easier.

luckily he and his roommates are always working in the garage, so they are already kinda beat.. =P but i can definately say that i made my contribution.
bleh ive done it like that for an accord.. TWICE.. and no fence jumping action..
i wrapped it in a towel.. took it out to my yard.. my cousin undid it while i put one foot on it.. we both were ready to bust on each but the spring just uncompressed and it didnt go anywehre.. in that towel.. bleh.. yes it was dangersou but did it save me the headaches of using those cheap spring compressors
