fuel pump issue

Ever since i upgraded the stock one for a wallbro the pump starts grasping air at 1/2 gas tank and wont pick up any more fuel once it reaches 1/4 tank.

i took the pump out to check it out and it does seems to be placed right where it should but i dont see it reaching all the way down, the filter element faces upward instead of facing down towars bootom of the fuel tank (is this normal?)

any clues?

Definitely a pick up problem. I've never pulled a pump off an accord, but I do know that the pick up should not be pointing upwards.

this is in the civic, i figured the pickup was wrong and tryed to turn the pump around so the filter and pipckup would face downwards but i didnt see a way of doing it..
