H22 Vs B18
Which would you want. Lets say everyone had a civic hatchback. What engine would you want to transplant in there. The h22 or the b18. Think about everything , weight , tranny power output and parts.

are we talking b18c1(gsr) b18c5(type r) or just the ls b18b motor? i'd most likely pick the h22 over the b18 simply because of the big difference in torque. sure it'll be a bit heavier than the b18 swap but with some good suspension work it'll still handle great. now if i was building a car just for autocross then i'd probably go with a b18.
I'd go for a B series. FI-friendly-er than our H22's, and cheaper to work with, more parts avail, etc. There seems to be a lot more available in terms of turbo options for the B's over the H's. JDM stuff, TODA and JUN, all have parts for the B's. And I think there's less of a problem with understeer over the H22's.
because the weight would be a big issue when trying to road race, i'd go with the b18c5.....same power stock, more aftermarket support, and it's lighter. torque wouldn't be too big if on issue if you're already up in the high end which is where the engine would be during racing anyways.
if was building a drag car, then the h22......but straight lines are meant for fast cars, not fast drivers....

my username could be h22civic
you can be different all you want just dont show up at the auto-x course... :t2
i prefer doing something that actually takes a great driver to be good at, not a fast car.
yeah, really.......an h22 into a civic isn't hard....or rare over here in cali.......but equally tuned, an h22 civic that turns better times than a b-series civic on a road course is something i have yet to see

here an h22civic would be something different. I don't think i can think of a single one...i'd use it manly for the strip, the lude is for the cones
