I have a 2000 honda civic hb dx

I get about 30 miles to the gallon in the city and 38 in the freeway. I use AMES oil with a 99% oil filter it is the best on the market you can go 25,000 miles without changing it all you have to do is add a little here and there.the color of the oil will change but the constistancy will no change and the oil does not break down. I have ran it in my engine for 18000 miles and get good trottle responce and pretty good milage
but I want more!

I still wouldn't run oil in my car that long...I just can't do it...It has to be changed up to 3000 for me...

Thats just me though...

Best way to get fuel mileage. CHECK YOUR TIRES. Air pressure is probably the easiest way to gain MPG. If your low , it can kill a car , especially with larger rims and HP low profile tires.

Make sure your up to spec and you will see your mpg's soar. Also a good wash and wax always helps efficiency. Clean engine / bay , runs cooler , more efficient. Then make sure your always in a low gear , maybe skip 4 and goto 5th. That way you dont hang in 4th and your probably never gonna need to truly wind out 4th , unless your in a mad hurry.

Then to top off all that. Run windows up , sun roof closed. This really appies at the track as well. Windows down , sun roof open can kill times.

If you are on the freeway , use AC and roll up the windows. Having the windows down when you are going fast will cause drag because of the wind. But if you are on the streets, window down is better than AC because you are not going fast enough to cause the drag. When you have the AC on in the street the engine has to work harder when you accelerate
