crown vics? i believe its 235 hp and 275 ft-lb of torque. they're geared for quick bursts of acceleration though, so the numbers are a bit deceiving. alot of states also have highway pursuit cars, such as camaros, mustangs, etc...
I believe charliec225 is correct on the specs except the HP might be a bit low. Also they have heavy duty everything brakes, suspension, cooling system so when they start a pursuit they're in it for the long haul.

The crown vics aren't that fast, I used to ride with this one cop and he would stomp it every where and speed ridiculously. It was very fun. But it isn't that fast, about the equivalent to an h23 prelude if I had to guess off the top of my head. The guy I knew didn't ever slow down for speed bumps and stuff, he was pretty funny.
Mods: Bolt ons and a tune, 12.68 at 112mph in the 1/4 mile
they get factory upgrades on heads, cams, exhaust, and fuel systems plus it dont hurt that the cops go through a training class to learn how to take advantage of all the extra lil goodies
