How to tell if you are a real car guy

You know you're a real car guy/girl if:


you have keys to cars you don't own anymore because you just couldn't part with them.

you have more projects than running cars

you see potential at every junk yard

when you need a part you usually go to the auto parts store as a last resort

there are no junk cars only restoration projects and parts cars

you spend more time under your car than in it

your significant other is jealous of your car

you can tell when your car is a quart low without checking the dipstick

you would spend more on the tools and parts to do it yourself than a shop would have charged you

you have everything you want to do to a car planned out before you buy it

you have ever cried when a nice rare old car is destroyed in the making of a movie

you owe it all to the Olds Rocket 88

you consult the Kelley Bluebook Religiously

you understand that the brakes only stop the wheels the tires stop the car.

you agree that power is nothing without control

Or if you go to a car show and can name everything there from a half mile away...

you go to a show or a meet and you tell owners whats under THEIR hoods.

if you know more car acronyms than the military has for its day to day activities.

amateurs........i used to be able, and still can to some degree to tell you what kind of car and MAYBE model is driving down the road just by seeing headlights in the dark

x2 some models are close enough i make mistakes though every once in a while i'll mistake a fusion for a prelude or something like that

i have a buddy that can tell what make the car is by hearing the engine start up.
