Just Some Personal Thoughts.
This week has been kinda weird 4 me and i feel like i have to get a couple of things off my chest...just my personal experience which at the time seemed normal but right now seems like something i want to share with the fellow SHO members.
Firstly this post doesnt belong in the garage...but i wanted to post it where everyone frequents..so hear me out pls..
For the past week ive been trying to find those glowing dial thingy's...glowing dash..i dont know the name for them for my del sol. Manufactureres makes em for all cars but finding stuff for a sol is always a challenge so ive searched everywhere.
I been busy at work and every free moment ive had ive been on the net..ebay..wharehouse sites...anywhere just to find these damn dash glow lights....my point being is that i because borderline obsessive & neglected other aspects of my life for a couple of days...my family, g/f and friends...
Today i came across an amazing..set of dials that were on a fellow SHO members car...and i wanted them bad...franking speaking i would have given anything to get those exact same awesome dials on my car...when i say anything i mean anything...cost no boundary. And for a brief moment I thought 'fuck how lucky is that guy'..how lucky is the owner of that car to have such an awesome set of dials on his car...while poor me stuck here in Australia (with its limited car mod scene) would have to wait ageees for something like that to come here...well it turns out that the car belongs / belonged to NOSVTEC...a SHO member who recently passed away....in that split second everything which i believed to be sooo important faded away very quick...i was humbled and silenced as to what was important....life..this is my first point.
I dont know the circumstances of the accident all i know is that his car (a civic not the sol) hit a tree...i just want to tell all members of SHO to slow down...as honda owners we talk about performance mods...200whp...headers that give max gains at 7500rpm...turbos...sc's....speed...speed...speed.. esentially the continual quest for more power and more speed quicker acceleration.
I myself am getting sum headers in this week which produce max hp around 6500+ rpm...what ive just realised is that driving my car at 6500+ rpm to obtain this benefit..(which i so badly wanted)..... also means that i have to overcome 6500+ rpm of speed if i need to slow down in an emergency......i know this may sound stupid but i only thought about it in these terms today..this is my second point.
My last note is just to say SLOW DOWN to everybody....especially on the street..gunning it on the track is one thing but on the street where other ppls lives are on the line... taking some ones mother, father, brother etc...just for a 5 second thrill aint right..you'll never forget yourself...i've worked lot with criminals..drink drivers...hoons and they all say the same thing....'i wish I could turn back time'.
Eventhough i never Pm'd NOSVTEC or knew him very well his passing has really influenced my life & outlook on my car modding project... and i hope u guys can all take a positive message from it as well.
