lookin for some help here
alright guys, disregard me sn name, since signin up here i kinda developed a small likeing in hondas. Not to brag but i got a 1996 camaro z28 that has a good 689 rwhp. But at the same time im goin to college. Been thinkin bout buyin a second car to bring wit me to school since its already hard to find gas for my car an expensive. So ive been thinking and its come down to this...gettin either some sort of 5.0 mustang, another camaro, 3rd gen perhaps...or an import.
Heres where i need ur guys help...i never really got into the whole import scene, but i guess i might as well start...why not have best of both worlds right?
anyways, ive been lookin and im pretty fond of the CRX, Del Sol, and maybe a 2 dr civic, or my newly fav. the civic hatchback. Im gonna come off the bat...im a big guy, 6'4" and 300 lbs....anyway i can fit into one of these? cause i think the crx an del sol might not be able to hold me, and my head already hits the t tops in my camaro.
another thing is...kinda low on the green, since school is dryin up the good ol account...so ive been looking into buyin an import off of ebay, one that might be hooked up, cause i propebly wont know what are good parts to put into a 1.6 L, since ive grown up workin on v8's.
is buyin a used car off ebay a good idea, safe, worth it??
knew someone that bought a rav 4 off ebay, and they seemed happy, but it was bone stock. anyone here buy a car off ebay?
my last question...i know honda gets some good gas milage, but when u add in parts to make em go faster, does it start to guzzle gas more notciable??

civics are tiny.....you can buy my 98 accord and it's almost ready for the track/show....just needs some rom tuning and if you want, some higher compression stuff and a new windshield (some fuckhead threw a rock at it)....it's already mildly built...it ran a 13.9 according to my gtech....but i had high comp pistons in there which needed to go cuz there's no more high octane gas that's widely avail here....anyways, you can turn this into your project without having to do a motor swap since i did all that work already and you'll have some headroom too just check out the link in my sig

hey man like i said...when i signed up on this fourm i thought it was a joke, but after reding posts, and seeing things my opioion has changed...if i could change my sn i would, but that was my stupididty back then
it's hard to suggest a car without having a price range. you said you were low, but how low? buying a car off ebay is a crap shoot, you might make out and have no problems what so ever or you might regret it everyday once you get it. given your size i woudn't suggest a del sol or crx. if i were you and it was in your price range i'd look into ulta's accord. and by the way, after your recent change of heart you should change your sig.
edit: since your in Ct and ultra's in Ca it's probably out of the question.

my budget is gonna be no more than 5 grand...cause schools a bitch...and im on my own...no help from the parents...
ive been thinkin and i think i wanna get a civic hatchback, accords are ok, but i like the look for a 2 door sporty lookin car...UltraMagneticAL ur accord is sweet...if i had the cash i def buy it....why would u wanna sell it?? sorry man but 11 grand is kinda high for me rite now...
im also def thinkin bout findin and gettin a hatch off ebay...couple of my freinds are mechanics that own/work on imports so i guess they can help me out a bit...gonna see whats gonna happen in the near future...

5,000 will buy a nice hatch. if i were you i'd try and find one to sit in before i bought one though. hate to get it and find out that it's small for you to be comfy in. btw, any pics of camaro?

theres my ftp server with some vids of my camaro, few burnouts, dyno, and a quick race nuttin specail, i have tons of pics but thier all on my comp back home, didnt put any of me on the new comp..bah anyway i took out the stock engine and dropped in a 2001 corvette Zo6 engine in there, did the bolt on things, system ( cant fit a box cause need t top dwell ) got the stock z20 rims, SS rims, and soem drag lites, got slicks for the track, converted my head lites and tail lights to the 2000 SS look, full borla exhaust with ceramic headers, and a hurst short throw 6 speed. and i put in my super charger only when i go to the track...got pulled over wayyyy to many times with the charger in....dont need more tickets either :bh
thanks for the info...dunno much bout swapin engines with a honda...still tryin to learn all the different types, but if u ask me about any v8 or my specility...LT1's btw what are some really good honda engines and what does like b16 mean an all??

ah also last an final question....if i buy a used hatch with lets say a good amount of miles..like in the 100,000 range....still good to keep goin another couple thousand?? how many miles are too much on a civic??
