I was talkin to this dude the other night and we were talking about my friends valve cover
he said hey u like that Mugen (mue gen)valve cover
i have always herd it as Mugen(mue jen)
how do you say it?

it's pronounced mo-han in chinese. I just say Mew-gen though. Since "Mu" is a term in physics pronounced (mew) I just started to say Mugen that way. But whatever, tomato tomato.
And why is this in the garage forums? Should be in OT.

in japan, they don't have spelling bees because their symbols characterize sounds. when translated to english, if they wanted the "JEN" sound, they would use the J....but since they spelled it w/ a G, it leads me to believe they want the G (like aGain) sound

Some of the other ones that give me fits of laughter are:
Tein ("tayeen")
Bride ("bree-deh", NOT like the opposite of groom.)
Amuse (Ah-moo-seh, NOT like when something catches your fancy.)
Also if anybody can guess what RE in RE Amemiya stands for, I'll give them a gold star on their attendance chart LOL!

A lot of the Japanese guys I know pronounce it "moo-gen" so I asumed that is what it was suppose to be.
