One of my halfshafts has axle lubricant leaking out of the boot where the metal ring clamps it to the shaft. This happened as I was trying to remove it, so there is obviously no internal wear or damage yet. Is there any way I can buy a new clamp and pack the boot with axle grease?
I can't be 100% sure but I think you could just put a new clamp on there- My axle popped all the way out and I just slipped it back into there- I don't think I'm even going to get a new axle.!

Well The CV boot is a pain in the butt. I have a civic and have replaced a CV boot on that car 5 times!!! (2 on one side) and the other 3 times. Boot is brken now and and I am not going to bother replacing it for a year of use.
PS I have been driving with the bad boot for over a year now, no noise yet eather

yea, i changed both my front axels. it stopped quite a bit of vibration in the car. you should do it if you are approaching 100k.

i would just do a boot if it isnt clicking and making noises yet. but getting a boot and grease and stuff costs wat 25 bucks? i rather just pay 50 bucks (my costs on parts) more for a another axle instead of paying 25 for a boot kit and spending time redoing the boot
