Arrow New 93 Civic Ex need some answers

So I just bought my honda from an Irs agent who took care of it very well. It has almost 270,000 miles on it though because he drove an hour and a half to work on the freeway every morning and night. It needs some minor repairs like it needs new brake pads and new cv shafts some time in the near future not to bad right now. I am looking into getting a performace brake kit since I have to replace the brake anyways and want to modify my car anyways. But I don't really know where the best place to get brake kits is. That and I was looking into new performance cv shafts from TCI automotive since I'm going to have to replace them anyways might as well get the performance ones (www.tciauto.com). I want to build it up first to make the car more solid like better suspension and stuff but I don't really know to many good sites or parts that I should look into. I am also looking into building up the engine so if anybody has any sugestions for me I am open for them. I don't really want to swap the motor though. I recently had a volkswagon corrado so This is my first honda. The parts seem to be a bit cheaper which is nice.

Thanks

wow 270k? my 90 only has like 209, lol. but anyways, sounds good. just dont get drilled rotors i always hear they crack after awhile. is the clutch still good? you could get like a stage 1 ACT. but onto the suspension, if you have the money, get the Tein basic damper (around 800-ish if i remember correctly) http://www.inlinefour.com/teintypbasda.html .

well since the high miles i would suggest a new motor (or just another one with lower miles) but you said you dont want to swap the motor. do you want to go turbo or all motor or nitrous or what? first things first, get an intake, a good header, and a nice free flowing exhaust. as for internals, if your goin for all motor you could get some aftermarket high c/r pistons then pick up some ARP fasteners for the rods and head studs etc...then a nice stage 1 maybe stage 2 cam (you'll need aftermarket vavle springs and retainers for stage 2...could get away without them with the stage 1 but if you have the money, it wouldnt be a bad idea) i dont know how good crower cams are for D series but: http://www.crower.com/cgi-bin/detail.cgi?prod_id=63442z

If they are physically drilled, then that's why they crack. The drilling process stresses the rotor. "Drilled" rotors that have the holes manufactured into the rotor during casting are better, but I don't know if they are any more susceptible to cracking compared to normal rotors.

My clutch is still good right now but the suspension is starting to make noises. The Tein basic damper looks like somthing that I might do though. It's not to bad in price. Right now I just have to get my brakes fixed. I almost died the other day because of a crazy driver that didn't know how to merge. I don't really want to do nitrous. I think I just want to do all motor for right now but I might possibly want to look into a turbo kit later. It's my daily driver and I can't afford to have it break down on me like my vw that I fixed up. I'm actully looking into getting a cheap honda that runs and dropping somthing crazy into it. Obviously I havn't really gotten to far in figuring out what that will be yet but a project car is where I think I'm going to go. I might do some thing to my civic that I have now but just for show. Thanks for the responce though cause I still need to get brakes and suspension.

I am actully thinking about getting a motor swap now and I am looking into either a b20, or an H22, or possibly a k24 block with a K20a head. I think I might just save up for the last option.

Nice car. damn thats alot of miles tho. my 91 teg has 115K. If you want to upgrade the brakes get your rotors turned and buy some new high performance brake pads like EBC greenstuff or hawk HP pads. that should be plenty.

Right.. I mean why would porsche/ferrari/lambos/vipers/SL500/etc be using those on their cars? They must work cause they use only quality parts in those cars.... I think it all depends on who does the drilling for you... Heck if it were that easy I think people would just drill the rotors themselves in their garages
