not about honda but please help me choose!!

i hope you ppl don't mind me posting a thread that's not about honda but i really need an oppinion about this and this is the best english tuning forum i've found.. it's actually more about engines anyway. well i'm thinking of buying a Seat Leon Cupra (irrelevant).. now there are two engine options..

1. Cupra R: 1800 ccm Turbo, In-Line 4cyl., 225HP (originaly this engine comes with 180hp so it's already tuned by Seat) with FWD
2. Cupra (S i think): 2800 ccm Non-Turbo, V6, 204HP (209HP) with 4WD

now i'd really appreciate your oppinion on which combination would be better for further modifying. i'd rather take the bigger V6 engine but i really have a thing for turbocharched engines, which brings me to the next question... is it at all possible to put a turbocharger in a N/A engine???

i'd also like to modify my exhaust system, put 2 exhaust pipes, 1 on each side of the car, which i think would be easier to do with the V6 cuz of the exhaust headers placement - 3 on each side of the engine, which would then be 3 per pipe (correct me if i'm wrong).

i tried to make it as understandable as i could...
plus i don't really know that much about car mechanics so i'm relying on you to correct anything i might have said wrong!!

thanx in advance and i really hope you ain't gonna delete this post cuz it took me some time to write it!!!

#2 for sure; isn't that a VR6? I've read that Seat's
basically a Spainish Volkswagon/built with mostly
VW parts. Too bad we can't get them in the US .

that don't really help me m8.. :noo i was actually hoping for someone to come along and say something in the style of "take that, cuz of this n that, it has something that.." if you catch my drift...

actually someone answering the question about turbo being put on that V6 engine would kinda solve my dilemma more or less...

no.. turbos won't work unless the vehicle came equipped with one from the factory...............................

uhm, yeah... dude, you can turbo just about anything. take the extra liter and with the two headers, go twin turbo!! v6 will be more torquey, and tt's will make her scream. with the other car already being turboed, you don't have as much room to play with.. kinda like finishing a half-done painting, while the v6 gives you an empty canvas

Definately.

I say Cupra R, because the market for the Audi 1.8T engine is established already, & there is a heap of stuff for it from such companies as Wetterauer & Sportec.

Question answered?

mls: good argument! but that engine originally came with 150hp in golf IV GTI and is up to 225hp now and i'm just wondering how much more it can take. i'd like to get somewhere between 300 and 350hp with not having to worry the engine's gonna quit on me with some 50.000km you know. so i figured the V6 could take a bit more?!

what i wanted to know here is.. is that meant sarcastically or it really isn't possible to put a turbo on the V6 cuz i really like the idea about making the V6 a twin turbo??!! challenge included...

to simplify it all... now i just wanna know if it's possible to make the Leon Cupra 2.8l V6 engine into a 2.8l V6 Turbocharged engine. ???

with two exhaust manifolds, you can put a turbo on each one and run twin turbo.. tons of power. just make sure you build your engine strong as hell to take it. (ie. sleeves, low comp pistons, shot peened rods, ti springs/retainers, etc.)

Although not the same engine, there is a twin turbo Golf R32 in Off Topic somewhere (search for "Golf R32"). So using this as a rough guide yes, you can turbo the VR6 engine.

I believe there are superchargers available for the VR6, so check this option out also.
