Preventing Vandalism?

Is there a real way to prevent people from vandalizing your car? Or should you just hope that your insurance company will cover those bastards "Work." I know this is a really dumb thread, cuz I really don't think there is a way. But my car has been vandalized twice. Well, once on my old car, once on my new car. And I just think it's pretty gay. Those this was either a question for a discussion, or just a way for me to vent. Don't know which one it is yet... Anyways... Yeah.

if they really want to mess with you, then theres really no stopping them.

parking in a garage would help.

I've heard theres a reallly good method of preventing vandalism recently...it involves a chain and a rottweiler.

I wanna park in the Garage... But I don't wanna make my Dad have to park outside.

If I have Full Coverage on my car, the insurance company should cover any kind of vandalism done to the car right?

I would say yes. At least that is how it goes over here. I would assume you would have to pay the excess, though.

there's no way to stop it besides covering it up in a garage and storing it...and even then there's a chance.

if it's a daily driver, there's gonna be instances....at least a chance of it.

i mean, it sucks..i've had friends who had spoilers smashed, paint thinner poured (on a Gemballa Porsche no less), etc...

the insurance company covers vandalism...if anything if the vandal decides to hit the A pillar, it's totalled...if the thief steals the front and rear seats, it's totalled..

i suppose the best thing you can do is park in a well visible lot during the day and store it in a covered/garage doored place at night...

(costco packs of cheese. i mean the car was COVERED IN IT) and i wraped electrical tape around the side view mirrors...i used two rolls. he came to school the following day and theres still pieces stuck on his car and it smelt pretty bad. the electrical tape was still on the housings. he only cut out what was covering the mirrros. didint have any trouble after that

If it's less than your deductable, then you're screwed,
but the deductable is included in the overall estimate,
right? So you're screwed anyway, I'd think, unless
the damage is like $2000.00+, IMO. Why/how are
you being vandalized?

only real way ive discoverd to prevent vandalism is a little device ive purchased called a 12 gauge and a rocking chair. for added effect make sure you have a porch and some chewing tobaco. Works everytime although a side effect the neighborhood children will often avoid you and call you crazy ol; somebody as well as your neighbors will repeated call the cops on you. i dunno something about a guy on his porch with a shot gun just doesnt sit right with alot of people nowadays go figure??

When I had my civic, It was egged on Halloween. Then I just got my Type R, and it was paintballed the next day. I'm guessing it's just coincidence, but still. Cuz there's no one that I know who lives around me that I'm not freinds with. Unless I've just somehow pissed off someone who lives nearby...

I like the rocking chair and shot gun idea myself. Maybe set up a video recorder on the rear shelf (cover the red light w/ tape) and point it at the front. Hope they come back.
