Question about JDM Engines

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum, my name is Casey, and I'm from Hopkinton MA. I was on JDM's engine site and I was wondering...do they sell their engines with the trannies as well? And are they all complete because the prices seem very low. I'm sure the answer is very obvious but I have no idea because I've primarily driven domestic cars and currently own a 71' Camaro. On any site that you buy domestic crate engines, it is just the engine iteself and it is MUCH more expensive. The reason im asking is that I was interested in working on an early 90's basically junk civic and dropping in a JDM engine and lots of mods. Thanks for the help.

a longblock includes:
- Motor
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Injectors
- Fuel Rail
- Throttle body
- Alternator
- Distributor
and nothing else like a tranny, axles, wiring or ECU

a complete swap includes everything like a tranny, axles (depends on where you buy from) wiring, ECU, starter, sensors etc..

i know JHPusa give includes axles shift linkage and ecu but they aren't SHO sponsered

but still i say stick to the sho sponsers, you got a lot more people to say nice things about them that way

well your used to the domestic life. the jdm motors you see are just swaps.engines taken out of totaled cars with mileage in the range of 30,000k to 60,000k.most of the time they come with trannys because they are just taken out of the car hole, but some sellers sell them without the tranny.the reason why they are low is beacuse of the mileage and the type of honda engine.a intega type-r(b18c-r)usually runs in the high range of 5k.a 1999-2001 civic si(b16a2 which is also found on most hondas in japan)is about 1500k. the reason why they are so cheap is because they made tuns of the b16a.the type-r is a rare engine so it costs more.

Thanks for the help. I looked on the JDM site again and saw that they had some miles on them, none too bad though (and besides I was looking at Honda Engines which are known to last awhile). It was just a shock to see how cheap the prices were on engines with decent amounts of power for light cars.
