s2000 vs 305 v8 camaro

witch do you think would beat the other off the line. do you think the s2000 would be faster off the line or the camaro.

If the S2000 abuses the fuck out of the clutch, he should rape it pretty much the whole way. If not, the torque advantage might give him a 3/4 car or so lead before the 305 runs out of breath switches gears... then it's ALL S2000.
Remember, the are both RWD and both are not great on the launch. Only 305's are pieces of trash if anywhere near stock form.

bu the 305 woudl win of the line tho. i just need to know if it will win OFF THE LINE if the s2000 doesnt absolutly abuse the clutch

Well, off the line... drivers race. 305 might blow the tires off, S2000 might bog. Both are slow off the line.

what year 305? any mods? Most 305's are dogs wheezing out about the same horsepower as your engine in a heavier car. Not hating on chevy v8's but smog era 305's were gutless. 1988 305 TBI, 170 hp@4000, 255 lb./ft@2400, yuck. Exclusively off the line? Tough to call, depends on driver, tires, clutch, auto, etc.

yeah im borrowing an 83 El Camino SS with the 305 and a three speed auto. this thing fucking SUCKS. i cant wait till i get a new motor for my si.....
