i will give you the same advice my mom gave me when i learned...

1) its not going to happen overnight
2) learn the clutch before you learn anything else

she drove me to a construction area where they building a new sub-division so there were no other cars in the area... at first i was thinking wtf? so she told me to go ahead and drive to see how i did... lol, i watch that video from time to time, we did it my way for 2 days.. my way didnt work so we did it her way after that, she made me play with the clutch and the clutch only.. when i could get the car to move the way i wanted to without any gas, then she let me use the gas pedal.. when i did it my way it felt like there was way to much going on at the same time, got confusing... learn the clutch first, then learn the gas, do not go on hills till you learn both or you may piss off the people infront and in the rear of you (i learned that by experience and once again, i should have listened to mom)

till this day when i drive someone elses car and its a manual, the first thing i do when i get out of the driveway is feel the clutch out, then everything else follows..
