Someone help.

I have a brand new '04 Accord on lease.

It's got a v6, six speed, vtec, everything.

But yeah, it's leased, I want to make it faster without doing anything major to the engine or the outerbody.

Any suggestions on minor tune ups I could make to my car to make it somewhat quicker? I ordered some Mugen ECU yesterday, but other than that, I have nothing.

Thanks.

I wouldnt mod a leased car, but thats me.

I guess you can change almost anything, but remember you have to revert what you have done once the lease expires.

Do NOT do any internal mods i.e. cams, pistons, crankshafts, valves etc...

By lease standards, you shouldnt do any mods to the car, but if you must... Get a cold air intake, and possibly an exhaust. They are both bolt-on and can easily be swaped back to original. You will gain very little power from an exhaust, but the cold air intake should bump it up 7-9hp.

a CAI alone will give you 5 hp tops. if you do intake, header, exaust, that will give you about 15 hp. if i were you, i wouldnt mod it, because honda will see what youve done when you bring it in for scheduled maintnence. and it would be too much of a hassle and too much money to be swappin those parts all the time.

if you must mod your car, get an S-AFC. you have to tune it when you put it in, but its not hard. and then your maps will be saved so you dont have to retune it everytime you take it out of your car. its easy to put in and will probably give you about 10 hp. and best of all, its universal, so you can put it on the next car you lease.

PLEASE send back that "mugen" ecu.

Yeah, I'm aware that you're not suppose to mod it, but I don't really care.

Everyone is telling me that if I turboed it, it would be super fast. So I may end up buying one in the end.

First off, what is a S-AFC (I'm not so smart with cars).

and second, why send back the ecu?

.....you got a "mugen" ecu.......too funny

Anyway...you would have to get a custom turbo made because no one makes turbos yet. Comptech doesn't even have a s/c yet for the 7th gen.

My advice...Go learn something about cars first before you fuck your shit up. Especially with your "mugen" ECU....:noo

Well, I hadn't originally planned to mod it, but when I realized how fast it actually was.. Ideas swarmed through my head.

But yeah, I just wanted some ideas, and I'm getting nothing but pounded in the ass.

your getting pounded because you know nothing about cars. How you gonna mod something you know nothing about? Do some research and educate yourself on ya car.

1st rule of thumb...you don't mod lease cars!!! UNLESS....you plan on buying it once the lease is up.

The 7th gens already has a good amount of power. Work on your suspension first. Buy a 05 Acura TL 20mm sway bar and switch it out with your stock one. Its cheap upgrade (45 bucks) and its a easy install.( i did it this weekend) The results are very noticable around corners. You can also buy the HFP ( honda factory performance) suspension ($500) for your model. It'll lower you 1 inch all the way around and comes with shocks to support the stiffer springS. Comptech and greddy have exhaust packages that run anywhere from 800-1000. You can also buy a AEM v2 intake(300) and pick up nice gains. You'll pick up some nice HP from the exhaust and intake. Total cost for all this...2k plus install if you dont know how to do it yourself. Now why would invest 2k+ into something thats not yours?

can you break your lease to buy the car early?? I'm not sure if you can but if so, i would do that first then mod it. If not...enjoy the car in its current state. With a good driver your can run low 14's, which will smoke alot of guys in civics/accords/tegs/ludes and other rides that are just running basic bolt-ons. Not to mention you could run with a new TL, beat a TSX and countless other cars.....Hope this helps. Use your head man!!

Damn wonder what ideas would swarm through your head if you actually drove a fast car.

sendit back because that ecu is crap and a waste of money. it most likely wont do anything. if you actually wanted to chip your car, you would need a custom one made especially for your car and setup. i dont know that much about this kind of stuff, but most people go for hondata. the s-afc does what that "mugen" chip is supposed to do.

the s-afc modifies your fuel curve to get the more power out of your car
