Sound-proofing the car?

Driving a 4th gen Civic is what I'd imagine driving a Miller Lite can would be like if it were possible. There just isn't that much sound proofing in the car, and when traveling at highway speeds, there's a decent amount of road noise in the cabin. I was thinking of ways to reduce it, and I've come up with a very short list. First, there needs to be more carpet padding or sound proofing material on the floor. Second, some new weather stripping might cut down on wind noise. After that all I can think of is turning up the radio. What are some suggestions for sound proofing or padding, and would I need a steamer to get it to contour the floor. (I'm not thinking of dynamat, although that would be an option.)

On some models the AC controls are located on the door panels. Temperature is selected by how far you rotate the crank and the fan is operated by the long skinny pedal to the far right. The further you depress this pedal, the higher the air flow.

Depends on how much $ you want to spend. First start easy and redo the weather stripping, that'll probably help a lot there. Next the sound proofing material. There are two types of stuff out there that I know of. There is the mat stuff and then there is a spray on insulating/sound proofing material called "Lizard Skin". The spray on stuff isn't cheap at all, but its very very good.

Dynamat is what I would have suggested. Otherwise I think the other company that makes a similar product is called Accumat or something close to that.

Check into Fomo Foam if you're looking into a foam insulation to spray into bady panels etc. to displace voids.
