Supercharger and Turbo

This is not one of those, "What's the difference?", type of questions. A guy I use to work with took his ride up to the track to see what he could run. While he was up there, he said that there was a Civic running a B18C with a turbo and supercharger. I just looked at him like he was stupid. Don't go flaming away, because I posted this here, but I felt that I should share this with my Accord brotherin as well as the civic guys.

it's possible, there have been cars around before (even factory cars) that have ran superchargers and turbos on the same engine at the same time, basically the supercharge is supposed to get rid of the turbo lag that the turbo has so you have a lot of boost throughtout the entire RPM range. Most people who are that concerened over the turbo lag just use Nitrous though.

Lancia made a "twincharged" Delta as a production vehicle back in the day.

There was just a twin charged mini-cooper in SCC a few months ago, and a twin charged MR2 a few months before that.

Be a pretty sick setup if you can get it working...

Yep... I believe the 80's rally cars were pretty much all twin charged... before they decided that 600-800 horsepower rally cars were too "dangerous"...

I've seen a few twincharged cars. You get the low end grunt of an S/C and the top end HP of a turbo

(yes that's twincharged, 26psi from 1900rpms till it's 9200rpm redline )

Quick 07 335i (Vishnu Stg1)
Quicker 07 Ducati 1098S (Two Brothers dual slip ons)
Even quicker 05 WRX (Mean Tranny + Big Motor + Big Turbo + Meth = YIKES)

WTH??? The older I get the slower my cars are getting

Some Previous Rides: 91 3G Lude Built H23 with T3/T04e, 88 Guards Red 930 Turbo Slantnose(AKA the ticket magnet), 53 Bel Air 502 with an 8-71 and juice. Quite a few others, but not enough room. Oh an 01 V6 Accord too, probably how I got that funny title.

question is how exactly would the setup go, would it be a custom intake manifold where both go in at the same time, or would it go in sequence where the supercharger feeds the turbo and then the exhaust from the turbo would go through the intercooler between the supercharger outlet and the turbo inlet, or the intercooler between the supercharge and turbo charger outlet so it cools both of them or.... so many possibilities on the plumbing on this, which would produce the most hp throughout the rpm range, which setup is easiest to setup, and which is the most common used in these setups. DAMN I WANT ONE! poor f22 would curl up and die with that much boost running through it tho lol.
