Twin Filter Intakes

i was flicking through my local car mag when i came acroos a picture of a standard Short ram intake but with two cone filters comming off at the end. :eek...what exactly are these units...twin short ram intakes??

and secondly has ne1 used them...are they ne different to a normal Short ram intake...(induction note wise & power wise).

oh and thirdly is an air breather the same as an air filter??

I read somewhere that the two in one intakes were used for twin turbo applications which made no sense since turbo'ed engines dont need intakes. But I have seen some skylines with them.

Yeah turbos do need intakes. A lot of cars will get a turbo kit and leave the turbine open. Which too me is not good. I will be getting an intake on my turbo kit...if i get one.

An intake , only directs clean air into your throttle body via a filter and pipe. A twin turbo vehicle has intake pipes....and you would need two for the two different turbines.

Except probably make it slower. 2 induction points that close together on a single pipe is pointless.
